The somi in ioi is the somi you know. She was in jyp at the time and won produce 101 to become the centre of ioi. All the ioi ladies are pretty successful - chungha , somi, sejeong, etc...

I.O.I, Wanna One, IZ:ONE and X1 are all from the Produce 101 selection. These groups have members from other companies that are put together for a certain amount of time to make a group, on average for about 2 years.
X1 was supposed to be longer but with the corruption issue of Produce 101 revealed, the group was disbanded after a few months.
Btw Somi is the same person I think you were talking about... if you mean the soloist.
Somi was in I.O.I and then became a soloist. Like Daniel Kang, he was in Wanna One then became a soloist.
Actually, in the past, contracts for K-pop idols used to be 12+ years. The 3 members who left TVXQ filed a lawsuit against SM Ent citing reasons such as the contract being too long and there were many unfair points. They won the case and their contract was terminated. After that case, the new standard for K-pop contracts became 7 years. A lot of things were changed because of the 3 members who left TVXQ. However, those 3 members became blacklisted from the Korean industry as a result of being the first to go against their company. Only recently after 10+ years are they slowly starting to show up on Korean TV. They had to work in Japan before.

Somi (Dumb Dumb, XOXO, What you waiting for) is indeed from I.O.I! She was the center of the group as she won first place in Produce 101.
For f(x), SM didn't announce anything about their disbandment because that's SM style, they don't disband groups but the group will be just in a super long hiatus. And also, all members of f(x) are no longer in SM since 2020.

Gfriend was a big shock to me I literally couldn’t believe it
for me,gfriend is the mystery case for the disband,the members are active go to the show even umji also going live one day before the news,we are so clueless about what happen to them,just we get a news from weverse not from official,just them not renew their contract and thats so suck,all buddy is so sad,no last song,no proper goodbye for us,but after 3 of their members redebut as viviz,they slowly give a hint that their company is so bad,after viviz mv out,we know that sinb just throw the paper(as their old contract) yuju and yerin solo also dissed them in their song,sowon also dissed them in her vlive,they still friend,hang out together and support each other,gfriend not redebut and sign with same company because there are no agency will effort to sign all of them(previously when they on gfriend ,many show said gfriend are expensive to call them to come to the show),their leader,sowon said we will meet again.so buddy waiting for that day.hyuna also cry after watching viviz performance on queendom(maybe she also feel what gfriend members feel for disbanding) ,thankyou and pls checkout they are good in music
Although gfriend disbanded half the group went into the same company and debuted as 3 member group called VIVIZ which consists of Sinb💙 Umji❤️ Eunha💜 They released album February of this year! If you haven’t reacted to them definitely check out bop bop mv and lemonade which is one of their bside tracks. They’re right now on a very popular show called queendom 2 definitely check out those performances as well!

4 minute is not JYP ,but HYUNA debuted in wonder girls under JYP but was only in their debut title, she redebut in 4minute under CUBE

Fun fact! History were actually label mates with IU and after they disbanded one of the members (Jang Yi-jeong) went on to become an in house producer, known as EL CAPITXN, for BigHit. He's worked on a ton of songs for BTS, TXT and many other artists!
I always see El Capitxn credits on anything Yoongi works on (esp his solo stuff or when he produces for other artists)

I.O.I, WannaOne, and X1 are groups formed through the “Produce” reality shows. All these groups are only project groups and have members from different agencies some even come from already existing groups. This is why all of them have short lifespans. Would be super interesting for you to check out the groups that were formed through the show and also react to the controversy behind them.
Most groups that come from large production competition shows like produce 48 (ioi, wanna one, izone) aren’t permanent groups. They’re made to give attention to those idols so that when they do go back to their respective companies they’ll already have fans when redebut. For example Wonyoung and Yujin are from izone and debuted in IVE. Chungha and Somi are both from IOI and debuted as soloists
Dawn doesn’t come from triple h originally. He came from pentagon, which is a group in cube entertainment. His former fellow member hui (an outstanding vocalist btw) is also in pentagon and was in triple H.
It is actually that Somi! IOI also had Chungha and Sejeong (main lead of the drama Business Proposal)
17:10 Efra 🤣 You're thinking of Viviz (3 members of Gfriend). Le Sserafim's two members were from IZ*ONE (Sakura and Chaewon). IVE also has two members from IZ*ONE. So two of the biggest rookie girl groups of the 4th generation has members from IZ*ONE 👀

RAINZ isn't 2nd gen. They were one of the project groups (like JBJ) that debuted after Produce101 season 2!
Also B.A.P is kind of sad really. They were doing SO WELL. In 2012 when they debuted it was really B.A.P vs EXO for most popular debuts (not counting Busker Busker). But because TS was shit, it all kind of went down the drain
the thing with cube and hyuna/dawn was so funny imo. there were a bunch of rumors of them dating and cube immediately denied these rumors. hyuna then went and posted that the rumors were actually true lol. it was stressful at the time, but now that it worked out for the couple, it's just funny to make fun of cube lol
also, some groups like IOI and Wanna One that were made on competition shows have their disbandment planned from the moment they debut. the point of these competition show groups are just for the individual members to gain some fame then go back to their old groups or new careers after a year with a new fanbase
She is the Somi you know! The I.O.I girlies are doing pretty well since they disbanded. Chungha was from ioi too. I think one day you should do a produce/survival show special as it allowed for a lot great idols to come up
iz*one(pronounce as eyes-one) is a produce group like wanna one, x1 and ioi.. so they're bound to disband no matter how successful they are.. which is so dumb.. i really want them to continue promoting together

Guys, it's been a long time Wanna One disbanded... They were from Produce 101 that's it's from mnet, i believe they have only like 1 years contract or so!! Also, I'm pretty sure in one of these sad compilations you watched them saying their goodbyes and stuff...
GFRIEND disbandment is the most shocking and messy cause it's so sudden no any official statement from company the fans know the disbandment from the Article and the Group members message on Weverse saying sorry it's really shocking because it's been a months before their contract ended they always talking about that they are talking to the company about renewing the contract but when May 18 last year the article of their disbandment suddenly appear wich made fans confuse because they even have a upcoming album on July that year. So Buddy's (GFRIEND fandom) still waiting for the truth cause no one's knows what really happened but after sa 3 members got redebut as VIVIZ they slowly saying and giving hints what really happened and the fans speculating that the contract Is really that bad that the members don't really have any choice to renew their contract and it's been a year since their disbandment and GFRIEND members really promise that they gonna perform again as 6 after a years and we buddy's still waiting for it.

9muses was my favorite girl group for their sound (a lot of their title tracks were produced by Sweetune) and more mature style before half of the group left and their activities started waning. 2011 to 2013 (especially 2013) were the best years
I hope you guys react to some of these bands, especially the older gen ones. They were so iconic and it was a shame seeing them end cause they created such trends.
You guys should check out Triple H. They were really unique and doing something not everyone was doing in k-pop at that time. They could have been really big if they continued. Cube ent fd up big time. Hui is the other member He is from Pentagon which Dawn was also a part of. He left the group after eventually being kicked out from the company.

My first love group is IOI and also my first heart break it didn’t really hit me cuz after all it’s not too long. After IOI I discovered GFRIEND and I stan them for almost 7 years they are my super bias bias group and as buddy it really hit’s me I cry everyday cuz they comfort me for very long time they will be my forever home 🥰🥰🥰

FYI, The Ark was a 5-piece gg; after they disbanded, Minju and Euna Kim reformed in a duo called KHAN, but they too disbanded.

triple h is with cube ent. their company's OG groups were BEAST and 4 MINUTE.. also wannaone, i.o.i, x1, and iZone are all from the reality idol search produce 101 from MNet that's why they have short contracts. they are formed from different agencies and debuting from the shows is more like publicity for the agency and for the winners to be prioritized for their agency's new group since they already have a following that will most likely take note of their new group.

X1 was a group that debuted from the survival show produce x 101 they got a lot of hype and were popular from debut. However there was a scandal with mnet and the voting in the show which ended up in the disbandment of the group. They were actually supposed to be active for 5 years but only were able to release 1 song flash which has over 100million views showing their popularity. If they were still a group now I believe they would have been up there with 4th gen groups like stray kids and txt. The members now have split into other groups or debuted as soloists. It’s a real shame especially since all the members were so talented and their debut song flash was so good you guys should go check it out!
X1, Wanna one, ioi and izone we’re all formed on the produce 101 survival series and they all have set disbandment dates even before their debuts so none were permanent probably cause all the members of these groups belonged to different companies and couldn’t compromise
Actually WOODZ used to be in X1 !! They are the most heartbreaking disbandment for me. Their career together was too short lived due to bad decisions from the companies.
Groups formed from the Produce reality contests have an expiration date where they are meant to disband. They are all aware of this from the start. The members are all from different agencies which they return to after disbandment. Wanna One, IZ*one, and I.O.I are all in this form of contract.

B.A.P and Secret were both under TS Entertainment as was Sleepy (Untouchable) Sonamoo and TRCNG. All of which had members with lawsuits for abuse and fraud. When B.A.P disbanded their fans were relieved that they were no longer under the label. Ironically or maybe Karma TS Entrainment is no longer operational. Which means their is a hope that they may yet perform as a group with their own tracks) again as they may not be restricted by TS
you guys should react to ioi & their branch-offs! their members are all throughout the industry rn! (somi, pristin, chungha, weki meki, gugudan, etc.). also, x1, ioi, wanna one, & izone all came from the same survival show series so they had short contracts! (all their members make up victon, ive, cix, kang daniel, woodz, nu’est, le sserafim, ab6ix, wei, etc.). even further, a lot of participants who didn’t make the final groups also are active in the industry (clc, le sserafim, jbj, lightsum, rocket punch, samuel, aleXa, etc.)
for me Iz*one and Gfriend disbandment is such a waste
4 Minute was under Cube entertainment and hyuna was in the group also
I.O.I, WANNA ONE & IZ*ONE were all temporary groups from the begining because they were formed from an audition program named The Produce Series, the first season was Produce101 and it was for female contestants and I.O.I came out of it and the second season was Produce101 the male version and WANNAONE came out of it, the third season was Procude48 and it was a collab with Japanese groups AKB48 hence the leaving behing "101" and calling it Produce 48, IZ*ONE was the group from that season, and the came another male season called Produce x 101 and that group's season was X1 but they were disbanded as the series and its producer were being investigated for rigging votes (huge ass scandal, some of the names that were rigged out from the final line ups of each season were outed but everyone knows they werent the only ones but oh well...) otherwise that this obvious big controversy, the reason these groups disbanded is maily because the concept of the show is to gather Contestants from different companies and the final line up would be signed up and sponsored by mnet, but at the end of the day all of these artists have their own companies so after the 2years contract ends everyone goes back to promote as part of their company. But over all it was a very successful show so the groups received success the second they debuted. After the rigging controversy mnet created basically the same show with the same concept but changed the name and called it Girls Planet999 and Kepler came from that show, they as well are a temporary group.
The group boyfriend came back together but under the name BF now in 2021.
DBSK/TVXQ and X1 are two of the groups I chose to ult but got disbanded. I am so happy on where the members are right now but sometimes I just have these thoughts of "what if they are still together?"

since you are reacting to older groups and even disbanded groups, i would suggest you all to watch any videos about the TV series " PRODUCE 101", 4 awesome groups with limited term had been produced and this show series were the most epic show at those years, many countries or places copied this show and produced some popular groups and artists as well!!!

Pristin disband is actually still a mystery until today we don't know why they disbanded and why they were put on hiatus after a successful debut, it was really weird. Pledis never gave us an explanation.
Pretty sure it was because (not only, but mostly) korean fans startet drama and bullying about why Kyla is so "fat". She really wasn´t, but for korean standarts i guess. Which is a shame because Pristin was a really good group. I don´t remember everything, but there were many videos about this at the time.
@@monaliareal Yeah Kyla was on hiatus for a long time but it doesn't explain why Pledis disbanded the group, all the popular member were still there ready to promote, it's stupid to disband a group (especially their only girlgroup after investing so much in them) over a few hate comments. Something definitely happened behind the scenes

SEVENTEEN broke the “kpop 7 year curse” as they are the very first idol group that consists of more than 7 members to re-sign their contacts with ALL the members!

Seventeen really impressed me. I think they're the only group that all the members renew the conctract even tho they're big and have foreigner members. I'm curious tho about the8 and jun. They're chinese right? Usually chinese members from popular group will be really active doing reality shows in their country like lay exo and jackson got7 so i'm really curious if minghao and jun did the same thing too or they focus more on the group activity. I had saw them but just in one show and it already a years ago.

To answer your questions:
Yes Jun and The8 are Chinese.
I believe your talking about the show they did in 2018-ish (not completely sure when) but yeah from what I can see, they do focus on group activities (they -along side the rest of svt- members have this thing of dropping personal songs/projects whenever so they kinda get to do what they want on the side. (It’s a privilege because a lot of other groups won’t be allowed to do so))
But as for China the last time they’ve been there was in 2021 where they stayed for a while to visit their families and promote there (Jun filmed a whole drama). (because of covid they couldn’t go there as often so they stayed a bit longer this time as it’s been years since they last been there)
From what I noticed they don’t stay long and always make sure to go back to Korea for every comeback, like even though they promote in their country they don’t stay long where they’ll miss a lot of the group activities and it kinda helps that the company let them do their personal projects on the side when they’re in Korea (I think this happened more after the renewal of the contract?)
(These are mostly my observations and opinions so I’m not 100% sure and if there’s a Carat who knows better please correct me

the group Boyfriend actually didn't disband they actually left their old company Starship Enternaintment due to misstreatment and stuff like that and were on hiatus since 2019, but came back this year in a new company to start fresh and they go by BF (Bestfriend) now.

The most mysterious disbandment in kpop is GFRIEND. Even now HYBE and Soure Music don't explain anything about GFRIEND's disbandment (fyi: even GFRIEND members, HYBE-Source Music staff didn't know about the disbandment, they found out through the news) Source Music released GFRIEND as if they were nothing, even though everyone knows that GFRIEND is the first and only girl group under Soure Music. Too many irregularities that make people think that HYBE and Source Music forcibly disbanded GFRIEND.

Even though B.A.P themselves said that they didn't disbanded yet they're just not in the same company. But they said that they will comeback again they said that. But they still need company that will support them and now that the leader have his own company I think it will come very soon I hope. The groups from Produce 101 likw wanna one, iz-one have limited time like 3 years or 2 years because the members actually from different companies. So when the contact ends the members usually return to their own company and debut as solo or with a new group. X1 was also from that show. They debuted and it was quite succesful but there was contreversy on the voting sytem so the group disbanded short time after their debut

IOI, Wanna One, IZ*ONE amd X1 all are from the show porduce 101. The members were mostly trainees from diff companies and through the show eventually the selected few would form a group. They are only supposed to last about 2 years and then go back to their companies. Some either form other groups or just go solo or just went to do other projects. Somi, Chung Ha and Kang Daniel became soloist. Ab6ix has some members who were from Wanna One. Bae Jin Young from CIX was also previously from Wanna One. Pristin, Gugudan and Weki Meki has members that were from IOI. I dont know too much but that's only some of what I know.
Fun fact: Some members from Nuest also joined in the show but only Hwang Minhyun got selected into Wanna One. He was active with Wanna One till they disbanded and he went back to Nuest. Also through the show produce 101 is how Nuest manage to gain more support to go on even further when they were actually not doing well at that time.
