Thanks a lot for this video. I'm a male and with spinal cord injury. So I'm incontinent. I got staphylococcus aureus after being catheterised. And it has refused to go despite tons of drugs
@@blancarobles6935 generally anesthesia is not something you can administer to the patient often...its not good to use anesthetics unless your undergoing a surgery or having a seizure
Believe it would be more accurate if they afforded the viewing audience to see what the catheter looks like after insertion and the bladder is empty. All the precautions are important, but many clinical sources are of good agreement that urine is not sterile and indeed has low levels of bacteria present. The innate defense system in the bladder can typically ward off bacterial attachment to the bladder wall if healthy and intact... within a reasonable time frame. What the presenters did not show is how the common Foley design breaks down the bladder's natural defense against bacteria. So disheartening that one would go through all the pre and design a silver coating only to place an 85yr old device inside the patient and cause trauma. [Note that 13,400 patients die yearly in the US from urosepsis.] If you have a catheter and hematuria, it's from the unprotected tip of the catheter. Bactiguard is not alone; they support CR Bard, who sells the most Foley catheters worldwide. In this time of value-based care and patient-centric care, we can only hope these companies will reflex on their behavior.

Small doubt ....How much Sterile water need to be used to inflate the balloon of catheter.....
why did she put her hand in the sterile area to take out the sterile gloves?
I have just one question. If you don´t conect the cathetr with urinary bag before you insert the catheter urine would be all over the place!
Yes
Why don't due this with general anesthesia.?
is very painful. !!!!!!!!

@@blancarobles6935 if the catheter is done before the surgery, a local anesthesia may be something bad.
