Exactly! Today, I watched the release of the 2022 Range Rover, and although I'm usually a fan, it just looked like a giant computer inside a car structure. 👎
Just bought the same truck with 236,000 miles on it. Got it for a very reasonable price - compared to the current prices on these legendary trucks. It's a salvage title and has been restored to road worthy but runs the same and hope to keep it for at least 5-10 more years. They will run for a long, long time... so I've heard.
I just bought a 1999 regular cab Tacoma with only 98,000 miles on it. In 6 months I've already put 12,000 miles on it. It's still feels new. Great, simple little truck. I throw 800-1000lbs of feed in it and keep it busy.
I have same year as your but mine is an extra cab, and it's white, mine has 50,000 miles on it had it since it had 47,000 miles on it, had it for about 4 months now. Bought it from an old man he had it since 2003 really took care of it.
We bought a 2004 Ford Ranger last year with 100,000+ km (sorry here we use km instead of miles) because my father wants a pickup truck replacement for our 1998 Mistubishi L200 and it still works great for a daily driver! I want to change the head unit with a modern touch-screen ones so that it will have bluetooth connection. I would personally prefer these kinds of trucks and vehicles because it felt like they serve their purposes well
@@clxx1302 I had a 1994 ranger and put 283k miles (450km) on it I had to look up the Mitsubishi L200. It was call the mighty max here it was mostly sold in the US a tiny 2 door.

This makes me nostalgic for my dad's '03 model. That one was the weirdest trim combo I've ever seen, though: crew cab, 4WD, automatic, V6, full center console, but base trim with manual locks, manual windows, no cruise, no CD player, no clock, and black trim.
Back when you could basically get any combination you wanted unlike modern cars which force you to get loaded trims. This one in the video also seems weird to me because I also have a 2001 2.4L Xtra Cab SR5 automatic. Except mine has manual locks, windows, no map lights (only dome), and no tachometer. That had to be extra packages added on to get that stuff considering the 2.4L was basically base model.

For the people saying he drives with the handbrake on, it's a somewhat common issue that happened to my '02 Tacoma, where the cable stretches just enough to where you can't get the light to go off.
I’ve only owned a few vehicles first one being a 2014 frontier and now I’m in a 2023 Tacoma, but the first GEN Tacoma four-door V6 4x4. Is a truck that I want to own at some point in my life, it just looks so cool and I got the opportunity to drive one that has 350,000 miles on it with quite a few problem, but it was so cool because of how old school it was.
I have 04 Double Cab with 204k that I bought new in 04 lol Will never get rid of it. Still drives like it did when I bought in with no problems other than part wear and tear that is natural.
I think this is the newest vehicle you can buy in the US that DOES NOT have a lockup torque converter. That feature is so essential for performance, economy, and durability, I can't believe Toyota didn't include it.
Some people might say “oh more simple or less parts = more reliable” but having a torque converter that doesn’t lock up simply creates more unnecessary heat to the transmission, so more wear specially on a small engine like the 2.4 shown on the video. Engine needs to work harder specially on higher gears because some of that power is getting lost due to the torque converter slipping. Not good also for fuel efficiency.
I have one just like this one, only a 5 speed man...If somebody offered me 20K for it I would NOT take it...I wouldn't be able to replace it with a comparable truck...Love my Taco!!
