Hey Foxy, I got mugged at Brios while trying to sell weevil eggs (lucky I decided to do it in small batches). Returned in my Eclipse and popped a Connie Andro. Guy was totally unaware he had an S9 torpedo incoming. For some reason I decided to loiter above Brios, so when he returned in a Gladius (he had a crimestat for shooting me in the back twice) I got him a second time with another S9. Stealth torpedoing is back in the game!
I think it would be interesting to see a Retalliator beeing "stealthy". I know it's a big ship but if it's signature can be lower than the torpedo locking range.... it could be interesting.
@@TheFiendish138 I used to run a Tally with full Stealth A in previous patches, but prefer Mil A for the durability of taking occasional hits during an ERT. In the current patch 3.23 a Tally can approach to 10km before NPCs react, and certain ships have their detection range restored, so you detect and fire torps at Hercules and Carracks at 30km. 15km for Hammerheads and the 890 Jump (which I find weird as it’s such a late ship with its EM/IR signature) and within 10km for the Redeemer.
Always use best server.... even then it's still 5 minutes. If the last couple of years haven't been obvious..... only streamers and UA-camrs get their own personal dedicated server that's super stable. The rest of us useless cash paying players get the scraps.
It was pretty bad the first 3 days of the live patch, but I've been getting gradually better performance since then. I can get 30-45 min play sessions in.
I'm pretty thrilled about this. It's caused me to pull my once beloved Sabre out of mothballs and take her out for bounties again. Even with two powerplants I wasn't detected until a second or two before I got guns on target, and by then I was WELL too close for them to use missiles at all. I thought it was a fluke so I did a few more missions and same thing. Then I took my Military A ranked MKII F7A out and did more bounties, I was detected from way, WAY farther out and of course had missiles flung at me. Absolutely love there's a reason to take the Sabre out again. Also love the idea of unequipping one powerplant. It'll work great until engineering comes online, then it may be a better idea to keep both powerplants in case one is disabled or destroyed.

Last time stealth was an option I had a 100i and I found it worked very well slipping past players. Of course back then you could fly past at 1km/s and shoot people.
There’s no point flying an Eclipse within 5km of a target, as that’s the minimum range of the S9 torpedoes. I bought a lot of components before the last AUEC wipe, so I run Stealth A with my Eclipse, Pisces C8R/C8X, M50 and Razer EX (my Talon, Sabre n Ghost didn’t survive the wipe) Basically, when I don’t want to be detected. Oh I love the white BIS paint, had a friend loan me the paint once, now I run meridian
For those who are confused: When he says "stealth reduction" he means "emissions reduction" which is a stealth *buff.* And for "stealth addition" he means "emissions increase" which is a stealth *nerf.*
I'd find it kinda funny/interesting to see how a Nomad performs as a stealth ship Could run it as a smuggler/blockade runner to resup friendlies during Jumptown-like situations
Do you know if cross section is picked up passively in SC? Obviously, IR and EM should be passively picked up, but CS should be detected only with an active radar ping. I just don’t know what they have coded right now.
please can you do an "unofficial" stealth ship on all the medium sized multi-role (pirate friendly) ships pretty please! I'm trying to find the perfect ship that can sneak in, pack a punch and then grab all the loot and scurry away :)

Yeah, Intel doesn't care about that at all. The promo is way over, so intel could just allow CiG to release it for everyone. Especially since you can't buy Optanes with Sabres anymore, at least officially. It wouldn't hurt Intel at all. But yeah as said. They just don't care and CiG doesn't want to break the contract with Intel.
most limiting factor of both those ships are gonna be the Cross sections, the C1 and A1 head on is about 5k but about 24k ish on side and top profiles, so unless you plan to cut a ton of your components (and purchase stealth ones for the core minimum) for a head on ordenance strike, it's really not worth it, as anyone slightly off head on of either ship will see you from a very long distance away
infact i just checked and 5.8k is the minimum you can really get, and that's only when facing directly head on with only missiles/bombs, and stealth QD, PP & Cooling
Ya, it didn't make sense for a starter ship like the Mustang to have a stealth bonus. I really like stealth gameplay, but don't want to give up stuff like cargo and a bed. So I'll probably see how stealthy I can make my Avenger Titan. I am curious about the upcoming Crusader Intrepid. I am sure it'll be worse, but how worse.
Personally I believe the Periguin should be stealthy, maybe not full stealth. But its chassis is a stealth one, so it should get a little stealth. (Maybe the -20 the firebird had origonally.)
@@FalconDS9 so you don't think party markers work. Or maybe the ability to turn off stealth mode. Or how about the fact that the advertisement for it hints that it is stealthy. You dont activate stealth because you don't want allys to see you, stealth of for those who are not so friendly. If they didn't want this to be stealthy, then why did they choose a chasis known for stealth?
I get it some stealth ships are meaningful. Like eclipse/firebird have nuke ability, or prowler stealthy troop dropping, or even razor that serves as a premium escape pod. But what's the meaning of stealth dogfighters? You gain no advantage being stealth, you need those guns, shields and coolers. (Raven included. Its emp don't do significant dmg and itself can't really dogfight)
there are great advantage with stealth ships, in PvE, in this video it showed so many time, you can use your guns in stealth range while your enemy will not be able to see you. in PvP, usually the first one shot will gain the advantage.
@@cpt_foxyloxy I get your idea, but dogfighters need dogfight, right? You'll often need to power off a lot things like shield to be undetectable at ~2km. But only few guns that fits on a fighter can actually snipe. So my point is, stealth is rather ineffective if you end up fighting close(raven and dogfighters), its strength lies in range and burst damage.

Sure the Eclipse is the stealth bomber, but what if I wanted to multiply it by 3? How would a stealth Tali do? Edit: Played with it in SP viewer. Kinda lame, gets limited by cross section at 4700, but that should be good enough for mid range torp throwing.
well.. there is no button to dissable a power plant with the new MFDs.. maybe when the full engineering system is in the game, the resource management MFD is currently not even active.
The rocket kills have nothing to do with the stealth. Rockets are currently broken many times and cant be defended. NPCS even dont react to them. As soon as you lock a player he will get a notification that someone has locked in and he will be aware of you.
The prowler had a bit of a work over a couple of patches ago. It flies like a heavy fighter now and packs a decent punch. Its back to being a good ship

You can do it with freelancer mis it can goes 5km distance and launch 15km, nice ship for pirate to kill big ships parts now (u can aim parts :P)

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately there is not size 3 stealth components, and the MSR does have a size 3 shield which can't be stealth-ed.

I wonder how this works with another player. I mean torpedos/missles. Does the player know the missle is coming?
As soon as you radar lock or missile lock players, they will get notified if they are paying attention.
