I don't have merch in the traditional sense (I can't imagine selling something with my face or name on haha!), but I do have a stationery company where I sell planners for students. 2023 started off as one of the worst years of my life. But things changed slowly. I managed to get help. I connected with people. I also signed my publishing contract for my first novel which lifted me up in ways I can’t describe. Things can improve when you least expect it.
If one of these days you’d ever consider reading it, I’d be beyond grateful 😊

2023 really was a mixed bag of a year for a lot of people, including myself. I’ve come to the conclusion that the best thing you can do is to think of your life in terms of moving forward and try to find the good in everything.

The girlishness is dropping away and a new maturity, a blossoming young woman is emerging, not the same as when we are 12 or 13, but a second bloom that signals true adulthood. 2023 was a mess for me but I found so much light in the simple moments like the cup of coffee in the morning , mint tea with some fresh mint and ginger in it , the farmers markets , doing my makeup to classical music and enjoying reading
The little kitchen interlude reminded me so much of all the moments my mom and i share in the kitchen; it's always absolute (delightful) chaos.
I don't really know the words to express the feelings I have after watching this video. It is so calming yet motivating at the same time. It gives me such excitement going into 2024 as 2023 was not a great year for me. I hope that this year brings opportunities to grow for everyone in this lovely community :)

You can keep your Christmas decorations and cribs up until Candlemas, which is February 2nd. Christmastide and Epiphany tide count as Christmas and nothing has to change.

2023 was a mess of a year for me. Family issues.. my aunt being diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully she is now cancer free, but where one things ends, other things pop up trying to and wreck your life. I’m hoping this year is much kinder.
Watching your videos calm me down so much that I find myself rewatching old ones. I’m at peace now.

Thank you Ruby, this video really helped me process my own emotions. I am bad at reflecting, listening to you reflect I find helps guide my mind into the process. I didnt understand why I was suddenly so glum this week, when I am on holidays and about to start a new dream job in a few weeks. But your video helped me see, it is a complete unknown so now I realise that the emotions Im feeling are nervousness and intimidation.

My 2023 was fabulous. My life has been just the best. Gratitude, although I find the modern usage of the word tedious, is what I practice. I choose to be happy I suppose. My parents taught me to just keep going whatever happens…..

I really liked your make up routine. I'm 30 and I stopped wearing make up at 17, so my skills are lacking to say the least. I have the same problem with mascara but I've always been told that mascara is such an essential part of make up that it looks weird to not use it. I also don't like having lots of stuff on my face, I feel suffocated. I'm tempted to try out your make up look and see how it suits me. You have successfully influenced me! 😅

Everyone I talked to (including myself) said the same thing, that this was THE WORST AND BEST YEAR :))
Use an eyelash curler if you want to do sth with your lashes. I don't like mascara either, so I just curl my lashes every morning. It makes them appear longer even without the mascara.

If you are overusing your voice the best thing to do is rest it or you can do damage to it longer term. Perhaps warm your voice up in the mid morning with some gentle vocal singing exercises to help protect the voice. I recommend Berklee warm ups, or some bel canto beginner.
i agree on the 2024 feeling less odd than previous turns of the year. i wasnt as shocked by the new year, even though last year was a good year for me in many ways. i hope that our shared good calm feeling about it means good things for the coming year
2023 was a mix, I experienced both bad and good things. The only thing that I should do is to think about how to move forward. Also, I love your videos, they are a go-to choice whenever I am studying.
As a 'Little Women' fan have you read 'March' by Geraldine Brooks. It won the Pulitzer prize and is based on the story of the father in Little Women and what he did when he went to war. He writes home to his family who come in later in the book.

Happy New Year to you and your family! 2023 was a lot of change for our family too. For you, I would imagine that the strangest thing about starting 2023 was the gap year self-directed study versus traditional education. Our entire lives are spent in the education system and then suddenly everything changes. Congratulations on completing the first term back.
I don't love mascara either so when I put some on, I use a clear mascara because then if I touch my eyes, it doesn't get everywhere. But it gives the benefit of darkening and lengthening your lashes just a bit to make them pop. Might give that a try!
I picked up on 'there's beauty in contrast' too. I shall mull it over.
