If I'm looking at that chart right, the 4910 held about 10% more torque over a 4k rpm span, that makes the power usable! The husky had a sweet air filtration system and I hear they are slim and handle real well. It's crazy to me how close they are, I have no doubt it means you've rung every bit of performance possible from 50cc
Aye still impressed with the 49/501 power compared. Yet everyone says those husky 550 mk2s are made with fairy dust. Think the echo will still bost both of them with a longer bars and looks more forgiving power band. Be interesting if the husky will hold up. Is it worth popping the jug off to check for wear etc. Still a good job as always Charlie👍
@Jamie Dalluge interesting. Here in uk. Going off the arb forum, they have had lots of failures, mk1 and 2 running stock. Crank bearings and pistons, etc. Even the 560s had a bad rap. I don't personally run huskys. I'm still fairly impressed with Charlies port work on them. I'm just wondering if they will hold up long-term. 🤷🏻♂️
We had alot of issues with the early 562's here in the US but those have been mch better. The few 550's that have come back were due to user running them issues like running them dull or getting straight gassed otherwise the 550's have been very good considering the massive amount of them out there
@Jamie Dalluge they are not little animals then?😂.... nothing beats displacement, i guess . They seem fairly decent for 50cc, was impressed with what power he got out of the husky tbf. The stihl tad seems dispointing, though he got it running much better.
Yeah it just gets lots of fine sawdust built up on the filter quicker then the Husqvarna will. They have that figured out! You just have to blow it out more often thats all. I love my 261C, stock other than muffler mod! Also notice it will run lean out of the cut back to a smooth idle, sharp chain and keep the load on it helps it run better!
@@CharlesBrisco I can’t find anything specific to the 550 and a muffler mod. The mufflers look similar to the 545/562/572. Are they the same, or at least the same idea for the mods to the muffler?
Alot of work went into these, hats off to you for that. Non electronic carb for the win!!! The power curve was so much more consistent.👍🏻

Non electronic carb system. The electronic carbs are constantly adjusting to the perimeters set from Stihl’s firmware.

The dealership we get our huskies from has sold 1,000's of them with no issues. We've ported around 100+ of them with no issues

I'm a big fan of Charles work as well regardless the brand. Our ported 550's turn out nice but their not like the lil animals that charlie puts out
