Now this is what I've been wanting while we wait for KH4. More theory crafting please, HMK. Exploring KARMA and the nuggets of Quadratum lore, along with Versus 13 and Fabula Nova Crystalis lore, will surely turn up clues!
Remember how Mickey Mouse also said and quoted that they don’t hate the darkness, that it’s just scary.
I have a lot of sparked theories from that line of his. I also just really enjoy reading and finding new theories from other peoples creative minds and love it when new perspectives are added to the meaning and lore.
Knowing Nomura and his from his other creative works, we can only guess and have fun debates!
One theory I found intriguing was how Sora in a different dimension was the Master of Masters.

I personally dont see Karma as a system of good and bad, but a measure of authenticity in a person's heart. Instead of good and bad, the types of Karma could be love, hate, luck (or calamity), sorrow, and they relate because these types of Karma act as a binding substance tying together people, places, things, and events, actions, and governing the destiny of everything influenced by these binding Karmic ties. This Karma can be strengthened onto one's heart through cultivating a virtue to live by, through the people you surround yourself with, or repeating a certain task or thought, binding you closer to the cycle. A Karmic cycle is broken through the introduction of new Karma.

Darkness is indeed darkness good sir. That which light, is the opposite of the darkness which needs to be darkness- in order to be that of the other side of light. Otherwise known as, Darkness.
Also, It would be cool to see a new enemy type that is related to said "Karma."
Personally, I’m hoping that Vanitas become Sora’s darkness or it’s revealed like the foretellers that Sora has in prison Vanitas inside his heart it would make for a really interesting contrast of having Sora now have this powerful darkness inside him that hopefully he can learn to wield safely. I kind of envision Sora’s journey from here out being similar to Tera’s in birth by sleep where he struggles with the darkness in his heart, trying to find a balance between the two
I'm not sure about that, soras heartless was a shadow, the weakest form of heartless due to his heart being mostly light and not much darkness. But it would be cool if sora had a connection to an ancient darkness, but I'm not sure if it would suit his character.
@@WarriorKid_77 Yes but that was back in KH1, his darkness has had a lot of time to grow and become a Dark Side just like in Recoded. Also he already does have that connection for example in DDD we see Vanitis in the Hunchback world where he says along side with Young Xehanort who seemed to know Sora’s fate says “Hypocrite. You are the one who has made your heart a prison... Even if you are not the prisoner." Little bit of foreshadowing that always stuck with me.
@@sharkmessiah1018Firstly darkness grows when you let it or are overcome with feelings of despair, so I doubt his darkness would be stronger now than it was in kh1, and yeah he did have a connection with vanitas due to ventus but I meant like a direct connection to another separate darkness. But he only saw vanitas because Ven's heart was reacting to young xehanorts darkness, seeing it as vanitas. And the heart prison seems to imply the other hearts inside of him are trapped, not he has trapped darkness. But I actually do really like your idea, just that it has some holes.
@@WarriorKid_77 Understandable, I’m not saying it’s perfect I’m just pointing out my parts to it and how I took those lines and stuff. Also just wanna throw this out there but Sora seems to be putting on a front of happiness in front of his friends, behind it all he seems to have a lot of despair and feeling of not being strong enough. Not going to do a whole paragraph about the entire situation or all the stuff in the games that points to it but it’s there so his darkness has grown as shown through Antiform and Rage form, speaking of Rage form something neet about it is Sora losses his in game shadow when he transforms into Rage Form which Vanitis points out when he’s talking to Ventus and Sora “And I do stand by your side, Im the shadow that you cast how much closer can I be?” I think somewhere between the years that Ventus was inside Sora’s heart Vanitus made the switch from hiding in Ventus’s heart to hiding in Sora’s.
@@sharkmessiah1018You're right about him hiding his sadness, since many youtubers have made videos about that so you may have a point there, and vanitas is definitely in some way still connected to sora since it appears that ven still has a piece of vanitas within him. So it actually does seem that his darkness may have grown, but I'm pretty sure rage and anti form are in some way related to sora's previous time as a heartless. But yes, it is in some way darkness since xehanort removed his light (which is A LOT!) and were forced to play as rage sora until he recovers his light. But while sora agrees with light and dark in balance, he himself is a being of mostly light, not balance. Balance is mostly a riku thing.
Yesss, I've been believing for years that Vanitas would come around as an ally. And the concept of Karma is an intriguing one. Can't wait to see it all delved into.

@@HMK How awesome would it be if they decided to use the orchestra's version of Ven's theme in-game? Everglow's timeline videos edited that version of his theme in during the scene in UX when Ven took in one of the true darknesses (Vanitas XD) and it was EPIC! I'd LOVE to see it for real! :D
But I was under the impression that Vanitas didn't even die in Kh3. Remind tells us that the Vanitas we defeat in the keyblade graveyard was from the past and was just possessing a replica, while in monsters inc. Vanitas is revived in the present by the unversed (who were presumably released by his past self to spread his darkness like a virus in the future thus reviving himself), who is never destroyed just trapped through a door. Thus even though Vanitas was defeated in Kh3, he is still very much alive and running around after the game. No need for any complicated theories about how he survived, he just never died in the first place.

I have a theory I don't know if it's already been done but Sora is actually one of the true darknesses that needs to go but that darkness has lost its identity forgetting its darkness and becomes false light. Ever notice how Sora always has help to beat the big bad by himself like other keyblade users? He always says his friends are his power because that is true he even said it in KH3 with the demon tide scene where everyone died, except Sora if he is one of the true darknesses doesn't have his own light, so he uses Goofy's and Donald's light or the light of anyone else around him giving the illusion he is actually using light. Notice how he uses the darkness as well. Sora is the only person who is able to use the darkness in such a way to achieve an all new form as when his power of light isn't enough, he subconsciously taps into his darkness. I like to think at one point that Sora will be reminded of his true self as darkness, and things will get crazy from there. It kind of makes sense what else fits better as false light other than darkness masquerading as light?
I hope for 4 it’s the Darknesses given form like the Master spoke of. Maybe like a powerful fused form. I don’t want the MoM to be the final boss of KH4 - it needs to be some other antagonist, then for KH5 maybe Luxu (and/or one of the foretellers), and the Master being the final boss for KH6.
I hope you are right about Vanitas, but he would also have to encounter and assist the very same girl he murdered in Union Cross, before he was given his identity and form.
I wonder what would happen if Strelitzia found out about Vanitas.
STORYING TELLING
I still think there will be some underlying plot point that reveals more in-depth why Vanitas looks like Sora, because it doesn't really make sense right now. He looked like Sora before Vens heart rested in Soras
Sora and Ventus's hearts have been connected since Sora's birth and that was a while before Vanitas got his face.
Vanitas was a faceless being before soras' heart connected to ventus. Once he did that, that changed his face into an older looking sora.
If Vanitas does turn out to be inside Sora's heart, and Sora is hanging out with Strelitzia... that's going to cause some serious drama. I don't think she'd be too thrilled about her new buddy sharing a body with the guy who murdered her...

Ill say it again. The foretellers were children who were turned into nobodies. Master of masters used their hearts to make keyblades. Since they were nobodies he used them as vessel. As for the darkness clashing with the master of masters he is what is left of a different division. Instead of 13 darknesses and 7 lights imagine if just 1 person not many were split. Each of the the foretellers is apart of the same being with master of masters being the first deadly sin. Sora will eventually take on the new vessel containing all. 13 virtues and 7 deadly sins. Pride is rogue and the one who cause the splitting of the last entity that house all of them. Basically instead of lightvs darkness or nicely spliting a person into as xehanort did. Master of masters thought he could purge himself of evil only to create sins rather than just a heartless or and nobody. Hence why he treats darkness as an old friend.

Something a little interesting that I noticed is how the story beats for Verum Rex on the boxart mirror what happens in Final Fantasy 13:
"After a long fight, weapons have brought benefits to humanity" = The Fal'Cie govern and protect humanity in Cocoon from the lower world, Gran Pulse.
"But the KARMA that exists within humanity will accelerate" = Those are selected by the Fal'Cie must complete their duty and become crystalized or transform into a monster.
"In the light of the warhead in the night sky, they chose to fight while feeling the pain of their hearts...A journey without a place to return." = As Eden floats above her, Lightning chooses to take the fight to the Sanctum

Don't act like you haven't just pulled theories out of your ass before. While you have the occasional 5 star banger video, you said Mickey wouldn't be a guardian of light, Lea was the 13th Darkness, and that there was a third "Twilight" kingdom key.
