How do you play the chords in the big instrumental?
Those are octaves. The only notes that are sounding are my index and pinky fingerings. My ring and middle fingers are muting the other strings. The two notes are an octave apart... with an extra overdrive added you can get that really big sound.

It is a Fender Strat, the Eric Clapton model in the Artist Series. It came with a single-ply white pick guard, but I swapped it out for a 3-ply black one. and changed the knobs to black.
