  • Lost sea otters in California are getting a second chance at life, thanks to a program at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, both in California. The pups, which were separated from their mothers at sea, are matched up with adoptive mothers. The hope is that these mothers can teach the lost pups survival skills that will ultimately allow them to return to the wild. California sea otters are a protected species and have been near extinction before. Press play to find out how this program works, and why protecting sea otters is so important!
