Even though my son is now 42 yrs. I still love watching you with Max. I did the same as you are doing now with Max. Unfortunately I wasn't able to nurse as long as you have but I did feed him plant based. Because of that he loved all foods. He was not a picky eater at all and still is not. He still eats like a horse. LOL. Thank you for sharing your world with us and encouraging the new moms to feed their babies healthy and getting a great start in life. My son rarely got sick growing up and has not had any cavities. I know it is because he had a good healthy foundation to build on. Keep up the good work.
That's so awesome to hear! Thank you for sharing a piece of your story...hopefully the same will be true for Max, and that he will enjoy all kinds of food as he gets older!! :)
lol he will get alot sick, babys need preoteins from meat thats why breast milk at the beginning is the best for the children (its literally meat based protein) stupid parents will regret it when it dies from this diet or get all time sick
Thank you so much for making this video im on my first vegan pregnancy and i really needed this information please keep making stuff like this! You guys are so amazing and have helped me so much never stop the great work that you are doing !
I used baby led weaning with all 3 of my kids and they are the best eaters now! I always recommend it to new moms. People are always shocked when I tell them we didn’t do any of the rice cereal or anything, just real food!
So wonderful to hear/see your take on plant based baby feeding. It has reassured me that I'm doing all the right things with my 8 month old lil boy. ❤️
This is my first time hearing able baby led weaning. Very Interesting. I have a four-month-old and I was looking for puree recipes, but I like the thought of them being able to feel texture and get an idea of which food they're eating..
Very informative video- thanks so much :)) I have a 5 month baby and we’re starting to look into how we will get him onto solids. So excited! This has been a huge help- thanks again :)
I was looking forward for this video. Thank you so much, this is amazing and now I feel more more confident, starting my baby weaning soon...well done with Max, he is an amazing lovely boy
My baby recently turned one & I really wish i had known about this led weaning. I’m having an awful time getting her to eat solids. Thanks so much for this video! Love your content ❤️
Here’s another tip If you’re ever eating something and he really acts like he wants a bite, but you don’t want to share, just say it’s spicy and he’ll run away hahaha! Jk Erin you’re doing a great job. Mines almost 3 now and honestly the rule that matters the most is letting them do things their own way. Sometimes it’s challenging but you can always make them think they are doing it all by themself, and teaching them how to ask nicely for help- as well as always being there to help, will be great to keep on your mind. These babies just grow up so fast. Babies love smoothies. 💚💚💚
I would make sure the peel on the cucumber is tender enough, but I'd still probably peel most of it and see how good they can chew. But I don't mean to be critical at all. I'm glad to see you introduce solid foods a bit later and are a nursing advocate. And I only weaned at the "magic age" of one with my first child (it was the early 80's, so nursing past one was looked down on a lot...). The longest I had a child nurse was 18 months with this method (self weaning). The shortest was 9 months with #6...he was just done. I was more broken up about that one :D. But think raising children to be adventurous eaters and to recognize hunger and their appetites is a great goal.
Great video - as always! Loved your pregnancy video about nutrition. Thats why I came back to this one. You do an awesome job with your research. ♥️♥️♥️🌱
Just found your channel and absolutely love it. So much great info about feeding a vegan baby. I have a little Max too (Maximilian). The Pediatric Guide is great. Thank you for great content. Justyna from Scotland.
Hey i have a question for Erin. I wanted to ask before having your beautiful baby boy, have you ever struggled with your periods? I am currently struggling with mine and my doctor told me i need to gain weight eventhough my weight is healthy just not enough for periods. Have you ever faced a similar problem in the past? All i want to be is fit and healthy like you guys look and feel :)
Hi Shannon! I did have quite a bit of irregularity in the past...I recommend eating enough calories, especially enough fat, as well as making sure you're not working out overly strenuously, getting good rest, de-stressing, and using clean personal care products--all of those things can help!
LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this video! This is so helpful! My son drinks a lot of water! He actually has the same cup as Max. Our son love to drink water, maybe you can get him to drink water before you change his diaper (before and after) and with snacks? Thank you again for all these tips!
I think to get more water in I just kept the sippy cup everywhere we were & more grabable & always in vision💕 but he’s getting breast milk & water from all the fruits he eats too so that is great. It will slowly shift overtime😊
As in vegan diet lifestyle myself overseas how about this recommendation try lentil sprouts as part of daily diet , takes only an overnight soaking and eating the next day with salad dressing or raw tahini or any nut cheese .
I saw the video this fella went on about on how you were starving Max with so much false information. It made me sick. I'm a new vegan. My hubs & I decided to do 40 days just to see what may or may not happen. We're on day 26. I'm loving it, where he is having such a hard time. So I did a little more research. From what I've learned our blood types need different foods. He is meant to be a meat eater where I'm meant to be vegan. Having said that if you guys are an A blood type meat and dairy can do so much more harm then say a person with O blood. I've had stomach issues most of my life and never knew why. For me vegan is not just a diet, it's a life style and I'm loving it!
We've read and heard a lot of information that debunks the blood type diet, but to each his own! Glad to hear you're enjoying and thriving on a plant-based lifestyle!
@@EatMoveRest would you mind pointing me in the direction for that debunking? If it's nonsense, I'd love for my husband to have a little more education and get out of his head he "needs" meat.
Most of the lectins get cooked off and oxalates aren’t really a concern. With both you’d have to eat A LOT to experience any sort of problem...foods like beans and greens are so important and staple nutritious foods on a wfpb lifestyle!
1/4c amaranth flour, 1c plant milk (I like organic oat or soy), boil on medium low and stir frequently until thick. Turn off heat and mash in one ripe banana and a scoop of nut butter! That's it! :)
I am sooooo going to try this, thank you! 🙏 Just wondering if it's ok to give my baby soy milk at 7 months though? Can't seem to find any information online that recommends it... I am still breastfeeding so would only be adding it to porridge at this stage.
And did you include the barley grass powder in the babys smoothie? How old was little max when you gave him the smoothie foe the first time? I imagine you tested each ingredient that it contains separately first before giving the smoothie? sorry for all the questions but i feel they are important things that wed love to know from ur awesome family!!
We started letting Max try small amounts of our green smoothie recipe (minus the protein powder) at around 9 months. He did great with it and we do include the barley grass powder! We’ve been giving him flax and chia ground up in smoothies and oatmeal for a long time! It’s pretty safe as long as it’s ground up!
@@EatMoveRest thank u for this! I was just wondering as I want to start introducing flax seed to my 7mo, but I was told to wait till they're at least 8/9 months . So I wanted to see when u guys tested it out!
How does one acquire a booklet from pcrm? I checked their website but nothing is coming up.
Marlene Chellson I searched the site mobile and could not find either but interested to have! Thx!

I did it on a computer and it comes out in a different tap. I'll see if I can post a snip-it on here.

Oohhh you have baby plates that kind of stick to the table sweet, imma look for those

I’m following 😎
Welcome and thanks!
As in vegan diet lifestyle myself overseas how about this recommendation try lentil sprouts as part of daily diet , takes only an overnight soaking and eating the next day with salad dressing or raw tahini or any nut cheese .
Try raw hummus with raw tahini.
Sounds delicious and nutritious!
Can u taste seeds in smoothies or are they mashed up? Just asking if seeds can be eaten/drank whole in smoothies if blender is not powerful enough
High speed blender helps! If your blender doesn't blend them, try finding them prior to the smoothie.

By 12 months it’s okay!
EatMoveRest thank you 😊
At what age should you be adding vegan protein powder to your smoothies for your baby?😀👶💙
Hmmm...I'm not sure on that. I'll have to do some research! I believe they don't need protein powder until teenagers but I couldn't be wrong!
What do you put in his smoothie?
check out our go-to green smoothie recipe vid!
Please make sure babies have all 20 teeth before you introduce raw salads. It will prevent choking and aversions to foods in adulthood.
Thanks a bunch for the tip!
