  • Learn the basics of the Classical Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment (PSHA) calculator of the OpenQuake engine. This is a hands-on exercise where we use the OpenQuake Classical PSHA calculator to produce hazard curves, hazard maps and uniform hazard spectra. During the session we use the OpenQuake plug-in tool to explore the hazard results in different areas of the study region.

    Hello there,
Would like to thank you for having this session to provide us a great insight in regard to this aspect of the Engine.
I do have a Question though, at 31:44 the Width of the MFD Bin is considered as 0.2 for the full model, but when you were going through the Incremental MFD at 19:43 the Bin Width was 0.1, what could be the reason for this?
    Best Regards!

I have developed a GMPE through regression for the Mediterranean region, is there any way to include my own GMPE within OpenQuake to perform a PSHA for my region of interest?

Excellent video, thank you very much. How could I perform the disaggregation? Cheers

Thank you Jhonatan. We still do not have a video covering a hands-on exercise on disaggregation. However, you can find all the information necessary to do so on the manual and disaggregation demo. Both come with your OpenQuake engine installation:

    Excellent! Two questions.
    1. Where can I found Ecuador area sources?
    2. I have my own model, Can I modify area sources in order to execute my model?

      Thank you, Patricio.
      1. The latest national hazard model for Ecuador has to be requested directly to the authors, as it is not in the public domain.
      2. If you have your own model, already compatible with OpenQuake, you can do any modification to the source model and it will be reflected on the hazard and risk results. We recommend you refer to the manual to see how sources are defined and modified. The manual is installed with the engine. You can look for it in the OpenQuake program folder.
