I used to make catfish in a cornmeal crust and hushpuppies for dinner and told the kids we were having "Cats and Dogs for dinner"! The kids lived both the name and the dinner and asked for it frequently!!
Hi love thanks for always being the best you. Your kitchen is fabulous.
Dear Jamerill watching you for 4 years now. When I found you I was 4 months in to the marriage and moved across the world to Japan. I am a momma now. You have helped me to be a better wife and mom. I clean and cook with you. Yesterday I bought a whole load of autumn flowers to plant in my very small balcony garden. I love you ❤
That is all so special, Sakura. Thank you for sharing with me. I'm honored to be an encouragement in your life 💜
The farmer's outlet looks wonderful! Buying in bulk when your budget allows, definitely saves in the long run. Happy processing Jamerrill x
it's always snack season at her house she says.I love her!
I really do need to pop into my farm stores and look at their discounted bins when I have time to preserve. Definitely worth it
Thanks for the reminder Jamerrill
FYI for brown rice, dollar tree sells it in 2lb bags, so it's $1.25 for 2 pounds! You can even order a case which is 24 bags or 48 pounds for only $36!! If you do site to store there's no shipping cost and when it's ready for pick up you just go pick up the box!
The long table and island full of groceries and produce is a wonderful sight. My heart is happy for you. 🤩💖
You don't need to put salt in a mylar for long term. It doesn't go bad. Just pour it in a bucket and put a tight fitting lid on it. Stays fine as long as it doesn't get wet. I'm still using the 15 lb bag I bought 10 years ago, never wasted mylar or O2 absorbers on them.
"If You Give a Mouse a Cookie", excellent analogy and the story of my life as well :-)
I just loved when you said "The Dollar Twenty Five Tree"
Yes! My favorite place too! Thank you so much for shouting them out (Jon Henry's) and Sharp Shoppers too! I love when people buy local ❤️
Love that produce store! I wish there was a sharp shopper near me, looks like some great deals. Good video as always, thanks for sharing! ❤️
Love watching your videos Jamerrill, always puts a smile on my face
Yes. Me too.
I’m so jealous of your Sharp Shopper hauls. I’d love to have that store in my area. I’ve been tempted to drive to VA to shop 😂😂
Unfortunately I'm too far away to do that. It would be so much fun.
Keep an eye out locally. Google Discount Grocery Stores near me. You may be surprised. I lived in this area for years before I was even aware of some of the options here (Lancaster County PA). Good luck! :)
Its so funny when I see we get the same things from Sharp Shopper! Its been a long while since we got a big 'ol cheese long, too and we grabbed one this week! Also grabbed a couple bags of those fries (which are from Target originally). I'm up to my eyeballs canning the final (and huge) harvest from my garden. My tiny kitchen sure churns out a LOT of food for this fam of 7 (plus a very spoiled lab mix, who gets fried chicken skins as treats)! Love from PA 💜
Love your shopping hauls your such a savvy shopper too. We don’t have discount or outlet stores here in Australia and groceries are very very expensive in fact everything has gone up. Loving the potted plants too boy they are beautiful.❤️
I would love to see how Travis makes his cheese sticks!
Everyone is happy with your hauls!! Even the chickens😂😂. You did great!
I wish we had a Sharp Shopper in Iowa. I would be there every day. Truly!
Great Haul!! I wish sharp shopper was in my area💜. What I like to do with imitation crab meat is sauté it with butter, lemon pepper, and garlic then add it to some pasta and broccoli. So quick and good!
Awesome, I'm excited! I want to visit Sharp Shoppers.❤😊🙏
Ms. Ruby
I am in Australia and I loved watching this video as it gave me different ideas to the ones I already put in place here now. Blessings from my family to yours
❤️ the hauls.
Went thrifting yesterday and found 2 quilt racks, great deal.
And speaking of canning, now am waiting on 2nd canner load.
11 qts of Boston butt pork :: roast, pulled pork, & 4 Cuban pork. 2 qts of bratwurst to (almost) fill the 2nd load.
And the slowcooker has the bones for broth.
Sliced thickly, the tomatoes freeze dry beautifully
Oh wow can’t wait to see all the freeze dry and freeze g of all the fruit 🍉 and veggies 🥕
You can freeze any grains and it will stay fresh for a looong time. Including other things like chia seeds, nuts and anything else that won’t last long on a pantry.
Oh jamerille don’t put oxygen Absorber in your salt bag , it’ll turn into a rock ❤️❤️
You get such great deals Jamerrill. I wish we had a store like Sharp Shopper and the produce store like that one. Looks like everything's falling into place for you guys. God takes care of his children. Love from NC. 🧡🦊🧡
We could only dream of such a store here in SW VA. All we have in our small town is Walmart, which is low on stock most of the time. Enjoy and we'll keep hoping.
Hi Jamerrill really appreciate your videos even though we are on different stages of our lives love everything you share watched since your farm house xx
Being from New Zealand hearing about radishes being cooked made my eyes cross 😂😂 we use them raw in salads 😊😊 I love watching your shopping hauls and freezer cooking videos… it would be great if we had discount stores for food over here, we have a reduced ti clear store but the stuff in there isn’t great nothing like your sharp shopper hauls 😂
Yes! I am in North Carolina and I had never heard of cooking radishes until very recently. we grew up eating them raw as well. I have not tasted them roasted but the thought doesn't appeal to me.
It's new to me too...still haven't tried them any way but raw...I've lived in the northeast and southeast but only recently heard of it!!
Same response from me here in Scotland love radish but have only eaten it raw
Great hauls! Now to process everything, great prices
I think you do a great job feeding your family. My husband and I are still “housing” adult children ages 20, 24, and 25. They can eat a lot of food so we need yogurts and granola bars available, lots of side items, lots of potatoes and rice or the two oldest, boys, could eat three chicken breasts each per meal. Nobody can afford that! (I can’t even talk about meals eaten out or take out) 🤣 You brighten our lives with each video and we feel blessed you share your life with us so thank you! In case anyone is wondering, all three young adults have graduated college, have jobs, and are great kids, they just don’t want to leave mom and dad. That’s ok with us, we had children later in life so we enjoy them every day. Amongst all of this, we have a three year old grandson three days a week. He comes here to be with his father, divorce is rough, but we are grateful for our son and his son! So, to wrap this up, I can feed five if you can feed your crew. You give us great ideas for meals that are appreciated! Many blessings to your family! 💙💙💕💙
You speak the truth! We’re still “housing” our adult children too! Mine are 21, 24 and 26 and I Jamerill motivates me to keep going with making things myself even though I’m struggling with ideas for meals after all these years!
I still have my kids as well and my granddaughter. 25, 23 and 3 months.
My kids are all still young but I don't think there is anything wrong with families staying together at long as everyone helps out. That might mean buying the food, it might mean cooking or doing the dishes. As long as everyone shares the responsibilities it's awesome to have your whole family together still.
That's the way it is supposed to be great job mom and dad for raising loving, hardworking fellas!! My son is the same that boy ain't going anywhere lol
My son's Moved into a college apt with friends and still come home just to.raid the pantry. They know I keep stuffthey and their friends like. I had no help when I moved out so I make sure all the kids know they can get help here.
FYI Sugar and salt do not need oxygen absorbers. They do not need it for preservation plus they will turn rock hard into large brick. All you need to do is seal in bucket or Mylar bag.
The best kinda corn I know of is called obsession. Its so buttery and it's not found in most grocery stores
You got some good stuff! I wish Wichita had stores/outlets like these!
Good haul! Love your table and the great mums from your new favorite store!
I am glad to see a shopping video.
Love your videos! I think wow where is this when I was raising my sons Now I have my third son living with me with my granddaughter. She’s five. Yes, I tried to push my son to do better but he’s like stuck and doesn’t know how to go further watching you raise your children to see how different they are as awesome my other three sons have their own jobs their own lies your families, but it is nice to see my granddaughter, only if my cousin to get it together to take care of the things, he needs to take care of. Love your videos and always uplift me. God bless you.!
Mangoes are sooo good freeze dried 👌 They are one of my favorites things to freeze dry.
Jamerrill just cut those tops off the Pineapple and plant them about 1 inch below the leaves or google how to cut and plant, with that many you have a good little bed going and can add to the bed when you get more. I buy one or two a month and have planted the tops and all of them are doing great. Love Ya.
OMG 😱 yay!! We are moving back to Virginia and I am so excited to try these places out! Thank you for sharing ❤
wow you are fortunate that you'll be able to do that!
Thank you, for sharing all the deals and meals...
Radishes in the air fryer...oh my goodness, pure goodness! Buggy corn, chickens lovin' it.
I’ve driven past John Henry General store on my way to the Shenandoah Valley Flea Market so many times and always say we should stop and we never do, next time I’m up that way I’ll definitely need to stop in. I really need to go to Sharp Shopper again soon. It’s our favorite place to stock up on snacks, pasta, and cereal. Every time I go it’s so crowded at the dairy case. I go about every 6 weeks, we are a family of four.
Thanks for taking us shopping with you! I love it. Sharp Shopper where you at??? I need you!!!
I make cheese all summer long. Then my husband will cut up the cheese and put in our daily freezer. I do homemade butter and glee too for our emergency food back up. For my family of 11 people. Now I have to start filling up. With fresh fruit and vegetables and chicken and beef and bread and more.
💖💖💖💖 I love ur videos
Me too!
Seeing those mangos and pineapples brought me back to a salsa I just canned. Also did a peach salsa as well. Lots of great deals you found. I see some canning videos in your near future. Love the new kitchen. So happy for you Jamerrill!! finally got lots of space to do all that cooking in.
I wish we had both those stores in Michigan
Edit to my previous comment: closest one to me looks like Leola, PA- about 30 minutes from me! Seems well worth the trip!
I wish we had a Sharp Shopper’s in New Orleans Metro area. I have 4 kids and they eat a lot. My boys are 17 and 13. They are already over 6’2 and 6’3. They still growing. My girls are 19 and 18. Plus, we usually have extra people in the house.
Great video. Groceries are my weakness. I'd rather have my cabinets overflowing than other material items.
Love the title. 😂
Me too!
Oh YES, love Sharp Shopper. Bargains!
I wish we had one here SO BAD. We have nothing like that here. The closest we have is Aldi and their prices still aren't this good.
Your videos are so relaxing. ✨🍁🍂🌻
With the imitation crab we love making "sushi" bowls..I mix the imitation crab with some mayo, lemon juice,salt,pepper..make up some rice with some soy sauce and rice wine vinigar and let it cool to room temp..put the imitation crab salad on top of the rice and add thin sliced carrots, avocados, some seaweed even..and have a little sushi bowl that is healthy and filling
My middle kiddo lovesss those catfish nuggets! And my oldest, husband, and dad will eat catfish as well. I do eat some seafood but not huge on certain types of fish..so myself and my youngest usually eat a big veggie dinner w/hush puppies because those eating the cat fish can have some of the veggies and hush puppies as their side items.
But with the cat fish nuggets my middle kiddo loves when i use a mix of corn meal and panko bread crumbs with a decent amount of lemon pepper mixed in and then I just dip the catfish nuggets in a mixture of unsweetened plain oat milk or coconut milk (of course can use whatever milk),lemon juice, pepper, season salt, garlic powder, and some egg..then toss in the lemon pepper/panko bread crumb/cornmeal mix..then back in liquid then back in the dry mix..let sit on top of a wire rack w/a cookie sheet under it until I get all of the pieces done..then I will air fry them or if I'm making my famous fried okra and squash I will go ahead and do the fish in some oil on the stove top! Although I'm not a fan of cat fish I did do a taste test on one I made before doing the whole batch and it was good! And others in my house who enjoy the catfish nuggets enjoy it made that way too.
I always let each family member pick out a meal for that month along with input on other meals..most of my meals i have to buy with the mindset it's something we can have atleast 2 if not 3 dinners out of because of our budget so that's why everyone gets to have their personal choice in meal at least once that month..and of course there's always leftovers, sandwiches, salads, etc for if someone doesn't care for a particular meal that a family member requested for that night.
We have some discount grocery stores around us and I love when they have their bags of slaw on sale (i always make my own slaw dressing but its nice when i can buy a large bag of the veggies already prepped for me lol) and will make that with their catfish nugget dinner.
As someone who eats more on the vegan/vegetarian side with some seafood thrown in there..I love the discount stores because I can get vegetarian and vegan quick meals and ingredients for over half less than the reg store..and places like Aldi who has been adding veggie and vegan options in slowly.
And hearing you buy the half or whole cows,pigs,etc..ive been on the hunt for a supplier and I've found a few I'm just trying to determine who has the best deal but also supplies a product I feel good about feeding my family..I do buy meat in bulk and do a lot of freezing of meat..sometimes 3 pounds of pasta may only have one pound of ground beef in it for them..but its still a hearty meal that fills up bellies and I always include sides to go with it..and ive even been known to add some beans to my pasta to make it even more filling but in a nutritional way.
I've gotten so many great ideas from your channel! Now that we have mostly moved into our new place and there's a basement with a basement "garage" that isn't huge but it's a decent little area..I am looking into doing the long term storage in that room since it stays dark, dry, and cool year round
Our deep freezer broke but my dad has been doing some "shopping" around to find me one as a early Xmas gift and that will save even more money now that he is with us as well..and because of our situation and trying to get back on our feet/sell our other house..and me not being able to work full time right now..I always make sure he has a hot meal as well..so im up to 6 mouths to feed (two grown men who work 40-60 hour work weeks, a 14yr old almost 6ft tall growing boy, a 9&8 year old growing girls, and myself) so its nice to get ideas on making big meals that last a few days/can be frozen for future meals, shopping in bulk/discount,and learning how to do long term food storage! Along with the deep freezer I'll be getting ive been looking into getting a bread machine so I can make some homemade break to freeze up and buy bulk flour and such to save money (I do pick up bread deals and freeze it though)
Sorry for the long comment lol I just wanted to mention how most of my fam really enjoys those cat fish nuggets and how you've inspired so many things for me!
Seeing your story growing up there have been many similarities so I feel you on a personal level for many of the choices you make for your family. My mother wasn't the best of mothers though so I learned how to do a lot on my own and was thankful when my dad wasn't out to sea so I could get a break and just be a kid for a few days. It def inspired me on how I wanted to raise my kids differently and while they do help and have age appropriate chores..they always know momma won't let them go hungry or go without clean clothes even if those clothes are also discount, hand me downs, etc
Thanks for all of the inspiring videos!
Yay, first hall for the family table.🤗😁😀😎
YOU ALWAYS GET SUCH GREAT BARGINS FOR YOUR FAMILY. THE TABLE IS AGOOD INVESTMENT NOW YOUR SHOPPING FITS ON IT 🌝👍
WOW!! Love that you could visit that farm. What bargains!! OH, those butternut squash.. LOVE the video.
I love seeing all the good deals thanks for sharing.

Wish we had a sharp shopper in MN! Such good deals
I'm planning to visit a sharp shopper on my vacation this fall! We have a similar type store a little over 4 hours from me and I try to go there once or twice a year! Love a good deal! Love your kitchen and my husband says I need to stop watching your videos lol because I been talking about a freeze dryer lol
You should freeze dry your corn! It’s so yummy!
Hi my friend awsome produce finds and such a great video god bless🌹🌼🌺
You are so blessed. We have nothing like that in the UK. Love your videos .
Oh I just googled Sharp Shopper it shows one in Cowan Tennessee in Franklin Tennessee not far from me more toward Nashville we can do that!!
If you go to Sharpshopper.net, you can see this business is locations. There are several in Pennsylvania and Virginia.
Wish there was a Sharp Shopper in East Tennessee!!
Wow what deals... a great blessing
When I lived at home with my parents, we always had radishes...but never cooked. We ate them raw in salads and my Dad ate them just like a snack food and also sliced them on sandwiches.
My mom would butter two slices of bread & sliced radishes & eat as a sandwich
Wish we had a Stores like that in New England
Can you take us along on your canning journey? I'm watching all things canning. I'm gonna do it!
Frozen bananas dipped in dark chocolate and frozen are good. 😀 Another good thing to can is carrot cake jam. So good with bagels and cream cheese.
Carrot Cake Jam
1 can (20 ozs) unsweetened crushed pineapple, undrained
1 1/2 cups shredded carrots
1 1/2 cups of peeled chopped ripe pears (fresh not canned)
3 tablespoons commercial lemon juice (acidity of commercial is consistent
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 package powdered fruit pectin
6 1/2 cups of sugar
In large saucepan combine everything except the pectin and sugar. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 - 20 minutes OR until pears are tender, stir occasionally. Remove from heat (at this point the neighbors think you are making carrot cake). Stir in the pectin.
Bring up to a full rolling boil over high heat , stirring CONSTANTLY. A full rolling boil is when you can't stir the boiling down. Boil and stir for 1 full minute. Remove from heat, skim off any foam you can get (foam will crystallize in the jars. A little won't hurt anything.) Or, you can add a tad or teaspoon of butter to the mixture before you boil it. This recipe doesn't really create a lot of foam though.
Ladle hot mixture in hot jars just washed in the dishwasher and on a heat dry cycle. Leave 1/4 inch headspace. Run a plastic knife down the sides of the jars releasing air bubbles (metal in a hot jar not a good thing, easier to break the jars). With a damp rag wipe the rims and put on lids and rings (if using Tattler lids remember to tighten and untighten by 1/4 turn per manufacturer’s instructions). Process in a water bath canner for 5 minutes. Please check the canning process time charts for your altitude. I'm at 4,000 and must process for 10 minutes.
went on vacation this year and was near a sharp shopper. omg we need them in Michigan. loved it.
Boy, I wish there were a Sharp Shopper near me. I live in So Texas but not close to the Rio Grande valley; so there’s only cattle growing in my area.
I miss Sharp Shopper. We need one in Florida so bad.
Love your videos and love the farm store! I wonder how you do all these things and still have time for school! Please share your routine/methods:)
You are so cute Jamerrill! I love watching all your videos and love your New kitchen! Thankyou for sharing with us and I appreciate all your hard work in making these videos!
I wish so bad that we had a Sharp Shopper or another discount grocery store near us!
I wish we had that Store here in Southern NJ., Thanks For Sharing everything you have for us 10-1-2022👍🏽👍🏽
Love watching. You teach us such much. You are amazing..........
I wish we had a store like Sharp Shopper here in Georgia.
Sure wish we had a Sharp Shopper! Or the produce place! Nothing like that in our area!
Thanks for the tip on Jon Henry General Store. Only an hour from me!
Watching your Awesome videos from Texas!!👍🏻👍🏻 Great grocery Haul!!🌽🍍🍅
Those are some awesome deals. Next time we come through your area I will have my husband pull in to the produce store and of course the Sharp Shopper 🙂
Those are two wonderful stores!
Wonder if you can thinly sliced the cheese and freeze dry it and blend up up to make cheese powder to store in long term
Well that cements I need to go to my local sharp shopper today while I’m out before work.
Wish we had Sharp Shopper here in the UK!
I know where that place is!!! I have never stopped in but I heard it’s amazing!!
Salt does not need an oxygen absorber. It will clump up with an absorber (just like sugar) and it naturally preserves itself (think curing things like bacon or ham, salt is the preservation ingredient used). 😉
“You’re right! I store things in mylar with oxygen absorbers, but I forgot that about salt and sugar! I didn’t put oxygen absorbers in my last bucket for either. But I’d only done the salt one other time.”
Yep. No Sharp Shopper in Texas 🙄 Talking hand! Lol. You think in Dallas-Fort Worth you would think, but you have to drive 20+ miles and go to the not best side of town. Love y'all ❣️
You are such a good mommy. So many projects to do.
The Salt was a DEAL!!!!!!!
Love your new veggie shop.
Don't put oxygen absorption thingies ( forgoten words 🙃) in with salt or sugar. It goes rock solid.
Makes me want to go buy a bunch of stuff and start canning I wish they had those stores in my town
