This video just learned me that somewhere in the world some people would think you would need a fully qualified technician to fill up your tank so much that it was made mandatory by the law. (And you would better not run out of fuel by night time)
Friend and I had to pull a Tacoma out today. Was resting in its frame with all tires spinning in deep mud after trying to cross Wickiup Reservoir where there was no water.
That was quite an eye opener: I didn't even know that there was such a law that prevents you from taking your own fuel at a gas station. I just read up on the law in Oregon: Looks like the pandemic did have an impact on the amount of counties in Oregon that allow one to fuel up your own vehicle though. Seeing how everyone filling up their car is basically paying for unnecessary jobs that sounds almost like this law is now used to keep "subsidised" jobs for gas station attendants. Coming from another continent, where fuel is way more expensive (around 9 US$ per gallon here in the Netherlands right now), I have seen very few gas stations that aren't self serve. Unmanned gas stations are also very common around here, with lower fuel prices at the pump than most manned gas stations. And yes, for those wanting the luxury of being helped fuel up their vehicle, there is a price to pay.
yup we are one of 2 states where you can't pump except in rural, diesel and some other circumstances like the pandemic added or the excessive heat this weekend.
I dunno if you saw but back at the start of 2018 a state bill went into action that allows self pumping of gas in counties with a population of less than 40,000. I was so happy when I stopped at Biggs Junction in 2018 and found out I didn't have to wait for an attendant.
Gotta worry about antelope and cows. Not to mention the love child of the Cowalope and the Jackalope, the mystical Jacked-up Cowalope!!! You see a brow and white cow sized twin antlered 1500 lb beast with giant rear feet and ears that can hop 30 feet in the air, you'll go grey the first time.

@@davidwoermansr I noticed that too. He definitely needs to raise it up a bit, or he is going to damage both the truck and trailer just going from a parking lot to the road, let alone going off road.
What he really needs is an F-250. With 4WD, if he's going to go out in the desert. There is a reason no manufacturer puts a 5th wheel hitch in their half ton models. The pin weight of almost every 5th wheel will exceed the payload capacity of almost every half ton. Even those 5th wheels that are supposedly half ton capable will overload most half tons.
