I have a better theory. Kaveh approached him, asking if he was ok. Alhaitham just didn't respond and ignored him. Kaveh got mad because Alhaitham didn't respect him as his Senior and scold him. So the group of people thought Kaveh was the bully. Alhaitham than cleared the situation and Kaveh invited him on a drink because he was embarrassed. Just to embarrass himself again because he can't hold his liquor 😂
What i find interesting here between these two is.. 1. Kaveh recognized Alhaitham's handwriting- 2. Alhaitham knows him quite well. 3. 5:46 - The way Alhaitham asks about Kaveh?? (Something about his tone seems genuine.) 4. Alhaitham doesn't hesitate and he talks about how they met. 5. The bickering, arguments and teasing from both sides. Either if considered platonic or not. It's hard not to think that they're a fun duo, no? I personally love this duet.
One thing that gets me is that Al Haitham always talks about respecting other's paths they have chosen for themselves yet when it comes to Kaveh he always fights him on his idealistic view points. For someone who sure doesn't want to get involved in other people's business he sure does love to make his view points heard to Kaveh ❤
IT ONLY JUST HIT ME ALHAITHAM SAID THAT STUFF SO KAVEH WOULD GO AWAY AND GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO ASK TRAVELER WHY HE'S FEELING DOWN (KAVEH HAD CHANGED THE SUBJECT)

I think it was Al-Haytham who wrote this line in the book with thanks for Kaveh. I mean: who else could have guessed that Kaveh wrote all these notes on the pages? They can recognize each other's handwriting, so Al-Haytham could clearly understand that it was written by Kaveh. I deeply doubt that an ordinary student of Kshahrevar would be able to recognize Kaveh's handwriting. In addition, Al-Haytham knows that Kaveh sometimes goes through this route and reviews his old notes on books in difficult moments of his life, so he could have written this so that Kaveh would feel better when he came across this inscription.
Good point I hadn't thought about before. There's a lot of points that support this as well first Alhaitham knows which books Kaveh has annotated being both the scribe and that he tells Kaveh most have been moved. Even Kaveh questions this. I think what makes students unable to understand Kaveh is that Kaveh uses a lot of coloful words and phrases that are more abstract which someone who studies language would be able to understand. Alhaitham also chuckled when Kaveh went to try moving them which could also just be amusement. Alhaitham also commented on how "Kaveh is now in a better mood and it doesn't take much to make him happy." This could be implied that Alhaitham already expected this to make him feel better which would make more sense if he wrote it. Also during the Interdarshan Championships Alhaitham has a habit of writing things for Kaveh to eventually see if he thinks Kaveh needs to see it.
while this is an interesting viewpoint, i dont think thats the case. You said it yourself, they can recognize eachothers handwriting. So Kaveh wouldve recognized that handwriting to be alhaithams, right? I think how the student mustve known may have just been kaveh writing his name at the bottom or something.
