Next recommended bottle for my 10 bottle bar is a lightly aged rum, specifically Plantation 3 Star. It makes a killer Daiquiri - try it with my fav specs below.

Excellent choice. This is my go-to for any cocktail that use rum unless it calls specifically for a dark rum, like a Dark N' Stormy.

I agree but Plantation 3 is on the more funky side of white rums, so in a Daiquiri I'd probably go 1 lime 3/4 Sugar because it can stand up to more citrus. More delicate white rums like Havana 3, always 3/4 lime 1/2 sugar.

By rum making rules, even the white rum must be aged at least one year in cask in order to be called rum, so there are not unaged rums, and the ones that are white is because they are filtered trough charcoal to take out color and some sweetness :)

3 star is right for a light, clean drink like a daquiri. Plantation Xaymaca takes a mai tai to the next level.

Let me correct that: It's a blend of Barbados Rum, Jamaica Rum, Trinidad Rum and lots of sugar. 😅

Havana 3 years old.....it is the original rum of the recipe ....no one have the same base, way of built and taste...i love Plantations brand, its the same area, weather and cane, but the formula isn't..

(in the US) It's made by Bacardi in Puerto Rico.
Liking something by where it's from and not the flavor?
