The baby orangutan hasn't even been given enough exercise to learn to walk because it's legs are too weak! No time playing, climbing trees, swinging from ropes & vines, exploring, playing. She just kept it in a baby bed. It can't even walk on all fours and is at least 2 1/2 years old. It's feet are all curled up and deformed since it has not been allowed to walk. The chimp can beat it up because it's too weak to get away or defend itself. It can't even rise to a sitting position. Its back legs are atrophied and useless. It needs months of play therapy.
The baby orangutan CAN walk. Were you not paying attention? That mess in the beginning is one. major. temper. tantrum! I saw one similar to it on Orangutan Island years ago, and man, he was not only scooting himself around on the platform because he was too pissed off to walk, but he actually picked his body up and THREW it onto the platform several times. Then when that wasn't enough for him, he slammed both hands down onto the platform, hitting it repeatedly, then would hit himself in the head. He was mad and wanted everyone to know it. She was scootching herself across the floor because she was pissed off and this girl has got her so completely spoiled that she REFUSES TO WALK. But obviously, if she had no strength in her legs, she wouldn't be able to do that. There is no atrophy here. She STANDS UP at just 9 or 10 seconds into the video when the girl leaves the room! She pulls herself up and STANDS AT THE DOOR. Then take a look at the very last few seconds of the video. When the girl comes in after the chimp gives the orangutan a final beat down and he moves into the corner, and the orangutan is still bitching and whining, when the girl kneels down, the orangutan again STANDS UP. She pulls herself up to her full height and stands at the girl's knee. I'm srry, I had to laugh out loud at your comment about their curled feet. Of COURSE they're curled! They're arboreal creatures! If you've ever seen an orangutan stand upright and then try to walk (there are a LOT of videos around that show this), their feet are not flat on the ground, they are curled and they walk on the sides of the feet, because their normal orientation is sideways and curled so they can grab onto a tree. I don't know what video you're watching, but everything can be explained in THIS video through a little knowledge of orangutans, which you obviously lack. WOW.
BTW, if you stop it on 0:08", you'll see the first time the orangutan stands up. She stands up to try and hit the girl as she's leaving the room. Classy. This was nothing more than a MAJOR angry, spoiled-rotten hissy fit. They were mad about something, and reacted like an ORANGUTAN who doesn't get its way, NOT one enjoying a better lifestyle so they will choose to behave differently. And it's not a natural habitat, it's habituated. They're still artificial. I never once denied that putting a chimp with a gentler orangutan wasn't a horrible thing to do, especially for the sake of entertainment. You should have at least conceded that point to me.

The chimp is being a chimp and the orangutan is being an orangutan. The whole chimp thing of play biting, slapping, wrestling is not aggressive behavior to chimps. They tend to be social animals and that is totally normal and appropriate for them. The orangutan needs its mom and that is not a facetious statement. Orangutans stay with their moms and she is really their whole world when they’re young. Orangutans and chimps just don’t mix. Just because they’re hairy primates doesn’t mean they’re meant to be together.

He needs to be in a forest with other Orang buddies. Great rehab/rescues in Borneo. Please do the right thing guys. The people laughing need an intensive workshop on compassion.

사육사 혼자서 어린 침팬지, 오랑우탄을 돌보네요.. 그것도 한방에서.. 야생동물들이니 최대한 제 어미품에 빨리 돌아갈수 있도록 도왔어야죠.. 이때 방송에서 관순이가 어미곁으로 가도록 한다고 했으면서 2019년 아직까지 못간걸로 알아요. 정말 책임감 없는 행동인것 같습니다. 외국 사례들 많이 찾아 보면서 노력을 더 하셨어야할것 같네요. 안타깝습니다. 이런일 다시 반복되지 않길바래요.

사육사 혼자서 어린 침팬지, 오랑우탄을 돌보네요.. 그것도 한방에서.. 야생동물들이니 최대한 제 어미품에 빨리 돌아갈수 있도록 도왔어야죠.. 이때 방송에서 관순이가 어미곁으로 가도록 한다고 했으면서 2019년 아직까지 못간걸로 알아요. 정말 책임감 없는 행동인것 같습니다. 외국 사례들 많이 찾아 보면서 노력을 더 하셨어야할것 같네요. 안타깝습니다. 이런일 다시 반복되지 않길바래요.
