I just adore Stevie so much. You can hear the essence of her being an INTJ (from the Myers Briggs) in this interview. Beautiful, deep, mysterious, loving, gentle, vulnerable, human. I LOVE the symbolism in her words. She's such a natural poet.
Even though Stevie is pretty loaded in this interview you can tell she loves everyone in FM. But as a human she was completely honest in saying they're days where she could go the rest of her life without seeing one of the four but was like even on a bad day she still loves everyone in FM. What a class act Stevie is.
She like all of us make of choices...She chose to indulge in drugs, and had many sexual encounters...Of course the wise person does understand...Even fame doesn't bring geniune happiness, peace or love...But she does tend to or seems to bring happiness to her fans...But nobody stopped her from having a long and loving relationship (family)...She made that choice too...So sometimes it is hard to relate what she is really saying...Again, nobody owes her nothing...But we still love her...
Well, of course! Her lovers are legendary! Lindsey, Joe Walsh, Jimmy Iovine, Don Henley, Tom Petty, Mick Fleetwood... I know that's not all. I've been a fan for 35 years...
I worshipped Stevie Nicks when i first heard Rhiannon on the radio in 1975. I was 13. But damn, by this point she was so inflated with her own self-importance that it’s hard to align that with the voice and songwriter that drew me in. Frankly, I think an hour talking with her would be more than I could take. Where’s the door?
I remember listening to this the Monday night when it aired back in 1979. I loved Stevie so much, BUT, I saw her becoming sooo self indulgent and utterly full of herself around this time. The interview is just cringe-worthy.
Stevie the mystical! Actually to me the Great Oxymoron...On one hand, throughout all her interviews she desired Fame...but then seems to come across as everybody owes her something...Hence, Stardom apparently didn't fullfill her need...And when it comes to love, which, many of her songs allude to, she acts as if she can't find it and all the men in her love somehow did her wrong...But it was her who ended the relationship with Lindsay, and her who comitted adultery, Mick being one of them...
Very strange indeed! The oxymoron is this image of sweet, and innocent person, who does so many wonderful things for all these people..."I am a priestess of way to much," she said, in one interview...this was 1985...and how many children she cared for, how many meals she cooked, how many hospital rooms she cleaned...????Then she claims all the fittings, make-up sessions, and interviews...That part is true...But that is stardom...And this woman (Stevie) has certainly reaped what she sowed...
