So you are new to this? As long as you bring love instead of hate, malice jealousy, prejudice, or, any other form of ill will to what you do viewers will appreciate your time and effort. By the way thanks for reacting to Elvis Presley: he was very talented snd shared his talent and his resources with the world.
Martin Luther King had been assinated in Elvis' home town of Memphis and while filming this '68 Comeback Special Robert Kennendy was assinated. Elvis had a hard time with both of these assignations and this song was written the night before, and Elvis laid down in a fetal position and recorded this song. Binder said he didn't care how emotional the song was at time of recording it, Elvis had to sing it live. This video was the result. Binder said after the video Elvis collapsed to the floor. Elvis put his soul in every song he sang, but this one especially. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I am a fairly new Elvis fan but will be a life Elvis fan. Elvis forever!❤❤
This is such a great song, the title based on Martin Luther King Jnr’s I Have A Dream speech, with Elvis singing it as a tribute to MLK after his assassination in 1968, followed just a short time later by the assassination of Robert Kennedy. My wife, also a big Elvis fan for sixty years, like myself, says “there is nothing more beautiful than Elvis in white”. There are some great songs from this ‘68 Comeback Special …. Trying To Get To You is amazing, & I hope you React to that one also. Just subbed to your channel to watch your Elvis Reactions, & you will get plenty of other Elvis fans subbing too, once they come across your channel. Enjoyed your reaction.
This song was written 2 months after Martin Luther Kings assassination for Elvis. His manager Colonel Parker wanted him to do a Christmas song. Elvis refused. After this performance he said he never do a song or movie That he doesn’t believe in. I was 7 years old when I watched this with my parents. This is from his 1968 comeback special
(new sub) Hi just found you. BACKGROUND INFO for the SONG: As per Steve Binder, the producer-director of Elvis' '68 Comeback special, Elvis, Binder & a group of others were together in the studio when they heard noise coming from the TV in the next room; it was the TV news broadcast that Robert Kennedy had just been assassinated. Binder, Elvis, et al sat up until about 4 a.m. talking about the turmoil in the world at that time w-Elvis expressing his thoughts & feelings. Elvis was disturbed about many things that were going on in the world; there had been some assassinations a few yrs. prior to King & Kennedy, & the Vietnam war was raging. Binder asked Walter Earl Brown to compose a song based on his discussions w-Elvis. The song was composed post haste as the show’s taping was wrapping up. The song is not a literal dedication to any one person or persons but is notable for its similarities King’s wish for a world of peace and harmony. The red tie was for the blood shed in Vietnam. We have to also thank Steve for getting one of his people to keep Elvis' manager Parker AWAY so that he & Elvis could do what they needed to do. The female backups for this '68 special were The Blossoms which included Darlene Love. If it wasn't for the great Steve Binder, one of the most upstanding, ethical people in the business, who knows which way Elvis' career would have gone. Thank you.
SUBBED❤ Great reaction👍 THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS❤️ Elvis inspires you to be a better human being❤️ You bring me and other Elvisfans a lot of Joy and Love❤️ Welcome to the Elvisfamily..It is filled with LOVE and FUN❤️😉
For many, Elvis offers an escape to a simpler, more glamorous era. His music and persona transport fans to a time of passion and energy, making it easy to get “hooked.” His ability to evoke emotion, inspire awe, and connect with listeners across generations cements his status as an irresistible icon.
You seem to have analyze the lyrics and didn’t even react to the performance, which was quite odd. This is a performance reaction. Otherwise, I’ll look for more Elvis from your channel.
I realized this after finishing the video and put a comment in the video description admitting my mistake for not commenting on his amazing voice and performance. Thank you for watching and for letting me know what you want in a reaction.

My neighbor used to sing with him. She would offer me tickets but I said no thanks. I was into RockNRoll at the time
He's the king of RocknRoll 😅😊
