sierra Podgurny I hope you know this song is about a BOY from the opera RINALDO, indeed he isn't a boy either is a a nobleman of the House of Este. The song is singed by a countertenor, or in the past by a castrato :)
Olalla Vargas No, it's not. It's not Rinaldo singing this, it's Almirena, Rinaldo's loved one. She got captured and this is the song in which she sings for freedom. :)
Rahel Erki is right. At Rinaldo's premiere in London in 1711, this song was sung by Isabella Girardeau (Wikipedia). Having myself stumbled upon a disturbing clip from the movie Farinelli when searching for this song, I suspect your confusion probably comes from the fact that some moviemakers wanted to make a movie about a castrato, and took some artistic licence with the Rinaldo story. One could wish they'd written their own piece of music instead of appropriating Handel's. Almirena may be sad while singing this song, but it is in the context of a plot that ends happily for her, so I see nothing wrong with singing this for a 50th wedding anniversary!
yes this is about the girl, but nowadays it's become a symbol of what the castrates had to go through once, and the original was sang in austria by a castrato :)
Does anyone know why the sheet music is written in the key of F yet most of the opera singers sing it in the key of E. Love the Patricia Petibon version...the one where she wears the big red hat. She sings it in E. It looks like it was written in F originally from the little piece of the original score that still exists.

I don't own the rights for this orchestration but it shouldn't be a problem for you to use it for your Opera show. Good luck! Share the link, if possible. Would love to hear your show.
Lucas Uylings Um.... Honey, it's a sad piece of classical music. If you played this fast, it would ruin the point. And the person who posted this, never claimed any rights to it. Stealing implies you took it without permission and claimed ownership. Neither of which the person who posted claimed to have done. I take it you support UA-cam's copyright policy XD
@katorela hello, I have a question. Can I use the orchestration from lascia ch'io pianga to sing along and to make a video of the first part? It's so a beautiful orchestration. Thank you!

Did you write this orchestration of the piece yourself/did you record it?
Hi, Ben! I downloaded an mp3 with this orchestration from some website. I don't know which orchestra is performing this piece.
Alright. Thank you!
So, you stole it. It's far too slow, by the way. Zzzzzzzzzzzz...... And I'm awake again....

You need to erase the word "karaoke" since the lyrics are not synched, the title just fools the search engine.

I wouldn't buy an album that I have to provide the singing myself.
