Perched on the side of a hill, between the sea and the mountains, surrounded by picturesque Provençal landscapes, Fayence is one of the hilltop villages in the hinterland that is worth a detour.
Its southern climate, the charm of its old streets, its welcoming inns with Provençal flavors will seduce visitors to this village where the past has left some vestiges.
the Pays de Fayence is full of artists and craftsmen that you will have the opportunity to meet, most of them in their studio.
You will be able to discover different artistic professions, from the most classic to the rarest.
Do not hesitate to push the doors of these workshops for exceptional encounters…
You will quickly fall under the charm of the village of Fayence, its old stones, its old houses and its small flowery squares.
While walking in the streets of the village in calade and in staircase, you will cross the old fountains, beautiful restored doors.
You will pass under porches and vaulted arches, you will walk along the ramparts and the Porte Sarrazine at the bottom of the village with its battlements.
To have a panoramic view of the whole plain, go up to the Clock Tower and you will have a breathtaking 360° view over the roofs of the village and the magnificent landscapes of the Pays de Fayence.
Cute little places have settled here and there in the village and reach out to you for an aperitif.
You will find small friendly restaurants that will make you discover the Provençal art of living around a glass of rosé and good products bursting with sunshine and olive oil.
Fayence is also renowned for its gliding center (1st European center) where courses and competitions are organized (Open International de Glider).
Depending on the season, you will have the choice between downhill skiing or fine sandy beaches, Fayence is 90 minutes by road from the ski resorts and 45 minutes from the sea.
THE FOUNTAINS
Supplied all year round with very pure spring water, the most beautiful are the Paty fountain, the Place de la République fountain, the Gabriel-Péry fountain, the Roy fountain-washhouse, the Rue- Grande du Château and the municipal washhouse with columns.

Altitude. 184m - 671m.
Population. 5,602 inhabitants (2014).

Thank You for posting this beautiful video of Fayence. I love how you close in and show the beautiful flowers and the insides of the shops - it makes it feel like I am actually in that village taking a walk along with you. I love when you walk down the alleys to show the doorsteps of people's houses and the gorgeous wrought iron enclosures on the patios and the yard gates. My favorite feature in your video and in every medieval village is the beautiful cobblestone pathways and streets and love that there are no cars in view - just people walking - this is important when viewing the town, because it enables the people viewing to imagine life decades and centuries ago - modern cars parked everywhere take away from that vision. You are an amazing videographer. One thing I would love to see in future videos is having you shop for groceries or other cool items and order coffee and to sit and relax with your coffee. Also go into a bakery and buy a treat so we viewers can see what the town people sell and what they eat- maybe order a dish from their menu and sit down and eat - along a lake or a picnic. I love when you go into the churches and get close up on the architecture and paintings - also the intricate carvings. I love seeing the religious relics and statues - to honor God is always a plus for me. Love your song selection at the end of the video. Great job on your video - keep up the good work !

El encanto de Francia es precisamente ese para mí, su arquitectura de casitas adorables con balcones con flores y tejados rojos, todas se parecen y ninguna igual y sus bellas calles empedradas. Quisiera haber nacido ahí en todas las épocas y en todos los tiempos 😢

On venait faire les courses à Fayence et passer de bons moments : petits restaurants, etc... On aimait beaucoup s'y promener et prendre une boisson ou une glace pour se rafraîchir !
