For Me the Shmup Masterpiece is Tokyo - Scramble Formation,for me is the perfect Shmup,no one could be more perfect after Tokyo s Taito Arcade.The Shmup is devide on BT/AT,Before Tokyo,After Tokyo.....that game is the best of all Shmups.

I'm looking for a top down vertical scrolling shmup that was, as far as I know, not in the video
I believe it was from the 80's in which there 5-6 stages (maybe different time periods) and the player would play a third of a stage and then either have the option to continue with that stage or warp to a different stage. One of the enemies I remember were faces in the sides of the cliffs. If anyone can help, that would be fantastic. .
Not exactly sure but it sounds a little like Legendary Wings, although that game had both vertical and horizontal scrolling shump sections.

Arcade OST : Rule of thumb - plug in the most powerful CPU you can afford, so you have power to burn.
It depends what arcade systems you want to emulate. There are some arcade boards that use multiple 16 and 32 bit CPUs like Taito F3 board and they need some power to be properly emulated. Arcade systems used for 3D games and early 2000's 2D games can be pretty demanding. If you want them to run at full speed I would recommend getting at least fast Core2Duo/Core2Quad CPU, 4GB of RAM and some dedicated GPU (nothing too crazy) for the 3D game systems that may need a stable 3D acceleration. I know that some people can be supprised with the requirements, but arcade systems are totally different architectures than a PC, they use CPUs and custom chips for graphics and audio that need to be recreated in software with certain accuracy to make these games work, look and sound properly.

@@SicketMog Sorry but I'm barely knowledgeable in these games and SHMUPs in general, I just knew their because I've played them in the past. As for your question the game at 11:26 is called Brave Blade. Sadly the image is too blurry and the screen too small to identify the game at 57:30. I tried to use Google/Yandex's image reverse search but the image quality is too shit for these search engine to find anything.
