Yes, but we are still called to be faithful to him as his bride is. In Ezekiel the parable of the unfaithful woman speaks to the nation as a whole since it began with "I will multiply you" which only applies to a people. Granted Israel is also described as a wayward son, a wicked lion roaring at God and at mankind, and, most famously, sheep. But these are true parables and the distinction is quite clear even in the prophet books.
(Actually the case of Ezekiel's description of Israel as the brazen woman is especially interesting because God then follows up the parable of breaking covenant between man and woman with a parallel parable about a nation breaking its covenant with their conqueror.)
They even forcefully misconstrued portions of Jeremiah, where God says "my beloved," to mean Israel when it is obviously (in the interlinear especially, with a dash of research) a dichotomy between Israel and her, but also a parallel between what happens to her on account of them and what will happen to them as a result.
(A beautiful literary device, interweaving back and forth like a ballroom dance.)
Hint: the Lord wasn't happy.
(The misconstruement is why God sounds kinda schizophrenic x'D saying "my beloved I can't bear it!" one moment and saying "don't even pray for them!!!" the next. The Jews even altered their own grammar in their interpretations to push that nation=bride ideology!!)
It's not black and white. God does expect his people to be the wise bridesmaids, taking after the life and character of his bride (fidelity and devotion), just like he expects us to take up the life and character of his son.

As the bride has overcome all lust of the flesh so shall the body of Christ strive to do the same. She achieves the impossible and overcomes all sin thru Jesus and will take her position next to the King of Kings , Jesus. All who accept Jesus, must stay in a repentant mine in order to go in the rapture to the Wedding supper.
