Due to having 270 degrees of vision, he was able to see the entire stadium around him, and could see that stadium edge that was closest to him, so he could whack the ball in that direction to send it out of the park. The ball probably hit a car while it was at it

Although we cannot say for certain since it is out of view, I would reckon the parking lot or at least a road with cars parked on the side would be behind the stadium. This would give us reasonable certainty to conclude that a car or other object was damaged in the baseball impact.
