Fuck I miss this game, the atmosphere level was off the charts. You know they nailed it when even being a powerful vampire doesn't stop you from shitting yourself in a haunted mansion.
Well Wraiths CAN still kill you...and remember, they can be active any time of day too...Vamps cant. So think on that for a while. Most vampires can't see them either or really interact with them either.
I loove the photos it feels like I’m standing outside the blood bank just having a smoke or watching the cars burn until the sun comes up. Its nicely immersive.
Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines was a masterpiece with incredibly rich lore. Besides the upcoming Bloodlines 2, there is still arguably no better vampire themed game to this date. Unfortunately Activision caused Troika games to disband by rushing out unfinished game with very poor sales. At the time of release VTMB was so buggy it was impossible to complete the game with certain playthroughs. If you get the game now, it has aged quite a lot. However for over a decade there have been constant updates to community-made fixes and patches (gives you an idea how buggy the game used to be). It makes me sad this game didn't get the attention it deserved just because Activision's greed and how they ruined Troika together with many other game studios.
Putting all the blame solely on Activision is quite unfair. If I recall correctly, the decision to use Source engine (which was one of, if not the main reason for the million billion delays) was made by Troika themselves. Publishers are always the easier target when it comes to arguments like this one, but I it's not _always_ the case. Just more often than not.
@@Everness1 If I recall, there was also a lot of blame placed on Valve who deliberately made them wait for the full SDK because they wanted to release HL2 first to showcase the engine. Either way, despite the bugs and the glitches this will always be a game that many people cherish. Kids these days simply won't know! (Unless they play it!)
@@aromardu Seriously? I didn't know that, to be honest. I did see released trailers and I didn't like the whole "we shall force the first-person point of view on you." Because, in the original game, you could easily switch between first-person and third-person. Also, from what I have gathered, the protagonist seems to be male-only (which, again, is different in the original and you had options between clans) and you start as a thin-blood. The original game had lots of inconsistencies with the vampire lore, so that alone made me a bit curious and sceptic at the same time.
Troika screwed themselves with this one. The game was too ambitious beyond what they could deliver, and it's definitely noticeable with the dip in quality towards the end. Activision is a scumbag company, but they had amazing patience with Troika until they could tolerate it no longer.
my players looooove how I prepare a soundtrack for my games. so I must extend that gratitude to you and your hard work. thanks for making our biweekly Saturdays just that much more entertaining. cheers.
Sometimes I think i'm a true fan of this game, then I see what some people post on youtube and I creep back into my bug ridden, soiled, damp, dark little corner
Absolutely fabulous game to do, and you do a wonderful job! I appreciate the time it takes to make these videos and I listen to them about every day. When I am able, will be supporting your patreon very soon!
Finally someone made this! Again, thank you. I've always thought this music would be great for writing and brainstorming, and I have these on a long playlist, but it's much better to have a 3-hour-long video with great visuals. Amazing work!
@@alibayer4290 Yeah! Go take a look at the clan teasers of VTMB2 if you haven't already: looking really spicy! Also; apparently some characters from the first game will be making an appearance, and Rick Schaffer, the man himself, is also working on the new soundtrack!! AaaaaA I can't wait. Wish it were March2020 already!!
I miss this game's atmosphere so much and I don't think it can be re-created today because of the graphics. The atmosphere had a lot to do with the graphics and how the hubs were created. VTMB2 will be good, but from what I've seen, it still won't live up to the original. I hope the sequel gets finished though. Shit looks worrying at the moment.
I will always still hold out hope for a VTM MMO. Mostly cause unlike most people I know Paradox bought the rights to it. Everyone else thinks it's totally dead after CCP fucked it up. Its not. Not entirely. When Paradox bought out White Wolf they bought most of the IP as well, which included the MMO.
Thank you! Hmm, I wasn't planning on making an ambience only video, but on the other hand it should be easy to make a "low-effort" edition with the same footage. We'll see.

Steam is your friend to find this game, supposed you didn't know ^^

Speaking of Bloodlines 2, time to scale back on expectations now that most of the team has been replaced and the game is being redone.

I'd love to host a masquerade-game myself, but the level of complexity this game works on is just kinda beyond me ^^'
