LOVE! So many incredible things - but as you say "you cannot buy everything". I would have been hard-pressed to not part with all my money on the last vendor's petit atelier - so much beauty in such a small space. Merci Tara!
Tara, this is fascinating to me, to watch the process of your buying..not easy negotiating...have to be careful not to insult the merchants. Love the whimsical animals, so charming! You are so respectful to all the merchants, no wonder they love you as well!
I love to see how you handle the dealers. I know it's a different culture buying antiques in Europe vs USA. I do like how most antique dealers here put an actual tag price on their items, then we can negotiate from there. I would hate to have to ask for the price of every item. I feel like if they see you wearing nice things they will crank up the price...lol. There is a dealer here in High-Point NC that does that. It really scares the average customer like me away. Tara I've learned so much from you. Please keep videos like this coming.
Prices are typically not on items as the vendor generally likes to discuss the merits of the object, share a story and just diving right in with a “how much is that” comes across rudely. You don’t need to speak A level French, but one should make every endeavor to be polite.
Tara, I love that you are giving us an inside look at the curating process. Can you elaborate on the paying of vendors. We noticed that you hand the vendor something, and then tell him that your transporter will pay upon pickup. How does all this work? I am having trouble wrapping my head around the process. Ex. Finding the item later on, what guarantee do you have it won't be sold before your transporter pays? So many questions Tara. ❤
I don’t know what you paid for the picture of Mary annointing Jesus Christ feet priceless she bought it in Paris and now it’s yours how wonderful for you what the picture represents is priceless 😊😊😊😊
We can't wait until these items arrive in the US! Meanwhile we just wanted to share the beautiful pieces that are out there and will have pricing once they arrive in June.

I probably would have started there and never made it any further. 😊😊. Wow!! My favorite of all so far!

Funny thing , Americans have been shipping out French antiques for a hundred years and there are still plenty left !
