Mike, does the size of the body of water determine where beaver will build their lodges?

They prefer being surrounded by water, so in wetlands and ponds, you will see them in the middle. But in lakes and rivers, it is almost impossible for them to build one in the middle of the water so they will locate them on the bank, choosing a location where there may already be some deep water at the river’s edge and a built-up bank because that will make less work for them.
