Otto Wallin would be a good pick. A solid boxer who doesn't have a too dangerous KO punch but still puts up a good fight, goes toe to toe without backing off. Both Wallin and Ngannou have faced same opponents last two fights and had similar level performance. Wallin has never been knocked down despite having fought both Fury and AJ. He has granite chin. It would be a worthy challenge for Ngannou to be the first boxer who knocks him off his feet.
I think now that Francis has the money, he might consider returning to the UFC for a fight against Jones to settle the debate of who's better. However, I doubt he will because of the issues he has with Dana White.
He's not leaving boxing if the money is there. But is it anymore? He's not getting £20m again, not even close. He might get as much to fight next in PFL, in which case, why risk another embarrassment in boxing.
I disagree. Stock might not be same but he’s still got stock. He could still clip some people. However he should fight lower competition and build up. You never can tell.

Id watch Ngannou vs Whyte, Miller, Chisora, Takam, etc. Later Wilder... That will answer if Francis can box and is a dangerous force in the sport. He doesn't need to beat a top 3, 5, or 10 guy. An MMA fighter beating a top 25-15 boxer in Boxing is still legendary.
Easier touch vs top 50 and then a fight against older top 25 ish fighter like Chisora/Takam/Pulev. Or off juice and out of form top 20-25 like Miller/Whyte
I don't see AJ or Tyson signing MMA contract with Francis. Francis would double leg them put them on the ground in seconds and its over? ground and pound. Boxers are not stupid but they claim they are great fighter in sport not in a real fight.
Jones was in his prime 10 years ago. Ngannou vs Wilder would be fun to watch. The winner shouldn’t get a title shot with Parker, Hrgovic, Zhang, Sanchez, etc.
AJ said “stay in boxing” to be kind, kind of a class move as Francis was obviously distraught! But, in all honestly Francis doesn’t belong in a ring with elite opposition! AJ is looking good know, but beating a 2 fight novice and the 2 fights that preceded it does not mean mean AJ is better than ever
He should not rush back into Boxing after that vicious KO. If he does, he should fight guys who are not that dangerous, maybe someone like Tony Yoka or Gerald Washington. He needs to have at least 3 tune up fights before fighting a top 10 ranked opponent again. Personally, I'd like him to stay in MMA or retire.
i think he could beat Wilder if he has Andy Lee or Ben Davison training him, he def has a better chance against Wilder than any other top 30 boxer as Wilder's boxing is almost as limited as Ngannou, would be interesting fight!!!!
I think AJ was just trying to be too nice. It’s actually not great advice. I don’t think he should box unless he has a drastically different training camp
It's tricky. No point in mma, won't get paid. I feel like he needs 1 or 2 boxing bouts with a decent level boxer, before boxing one of the top guys. But he is what 37, Wilder fight is the one I think, get paid, Wilder can't box, ideal
Tbh Francis's future in boxing and MMA boils down to the purse and it's really as simple as that. By all accounts Dana is a disgusting extortionist of his fighters and I don't think he liked how Francis left for boxing so probably won't want to see him again, especially after losing like that. I'm only guessing here but I'd imagine Francis can still make a lot more money in boxing even taking a significantly less fight next. We have a few guys that heavily lost their stock for similar reasons. Wilder, Joe Joyce and Imho you can throw Miller, Whyte and even Zhang, possibly Chisora in that "second tier" group together. Whenever there's a big Saudi fight, any of those mentioned names fighting each other would be very attractive undercards. Certainly not the main event but depending how the winner looks, can suddenly elevate themselves back in the mix again.
Zhang stylistically is a terrible matchup for Ngannou, same with Ruiz. He would get badly KOed. If he wants to come back he doesn't need a big name his first 1-2 fights. He can fight Wilder, Joyce, Bakole in 2 years at 40 since they'll also be old but he'll have experience. Doesn't need to do it yet. Parker and AJ who are seasoned pros started by being active against guys who weren't at the very top. Gassiev, Helenius, McKean, etc type fights would be best for his development. Whyte is coming back and is fighting a D tier guy in Hammer. Joyce's next fight is against a D tier. You don't rebuild by jumping back against an elite guy right after a KO loss. You lower the level a bit where you can learn. What I like with AJ is he still didn't fight bums. Parker didn't fight bums with Simon Kean and Junior Fa (more like C tier). That still allows a fighter to be tested without too great risk. Like playing a game on medium difficulty which helps more than easy where you aren't challenged or hard where you're getting smashed beyond what you can grasp.
@@brianhanes5413 Agreed and Zhang is actually an excellent talent apart from being exposed as having a 7-8 round fuel tank limit(and wasn't exactly 7-8 fast paced rounds either!). That's a serious problem for Zhang, he's 40, and so it's effectively terminal for his boxing now that this massive weakness is exposed categorically. In fact, I don't even see much point in a rematch with Parker tbh. You could say Zhang has a chance if he goes all-in for the KO with 4-5 high intensity rounds following up on any moment where he has Parker in trouble which he didn't do in their first fight, but I believe Lee and Parker are too smart for that and that won't happen in the rematch now that they've discovered the blueprint on how to beat Zhang along with 12 rounds of experience against his style. And the problem for Wilder and Joyce is that they were never actually that good as boxers so taking a D tier "tune up" fight won't teach an old dog new tricks and is actually kinda risky given how poor both are as boxers. With Wilder, if he doesn't KO the opposition then he loses and looks terrible. He's always looked terrible, but his dramatic KO win glossed over just how bad he was. As for Joyce, he's another terrible boxer by world class standards which is the standard these guys are held against. He only won by his Homer Simpson syndrome lol. The opponent gets exhausted from hitting him and gets ground into submission. Joyce's defence strategy was using his face to block punches. That was "Ok" so long as he was undefeated and solid, otherwise he's terrible to watch and has now lost the only reason to watch him which was basically to see if anyone could beat him and drop him. So for Wilder and Joyce, at 40 years old and lacking any serious skill at world level, really should avoid risking any tune up fight unless the opponent is utterly useless, but they won't learn anything new so it's rather pointless, they're both too old to waste more time with that, and just need roll the dice one last time against a decent name that at least sells and bags them decent cash. At least that way of they lose it won't be to a bum for small money which will be even more embarrassing than losing to a respectable bigger name for a sack full of cash. If they win, bravo, onto the next big fight. If they lose, gg, cya, enjoy retirement with a big bag of cash on the way out the door.
There's an obvious answer ade. If Ngannou becomes PFL HW champion the fight with Jon Jones will be big again as far as boxing goes, the only boxing fight that may make sense is Wilder. Hardest puncher vs hardest puncher. Then he in theory could retire as a UFC and PFL champ. And having fought Fury AJ and Wilder. Which are the biggest names in HW boxing of this era
Lots of good fights for Francis. It's too soon for Wilder, maybe this year. For now McKean, Gassiev, and Helenius are good fights. If he wants to sell, Whyte, Franklin, and Martin have the personalities to sell. They'd talk a lot of smack.
I wished ngannou tried climbing the ranks the right way like everyone else that goes to mma. BUT he cant defend the right and anyone that watch him v fury was hoping he improved.
Are ppl forgetting ngannou is a MMA fighter. Why are speaking about as if he’s a top contender for the heavyweights. I understand he embarrassed fury but ain’t we getting ahead of ourselves. It’s kind of dangerous for him to be fighting fighters at the top level it’s dangerous
I don't consider Ngannou v Jones that massive of a fight, Ngannou has shown multiple times that if you have the speed and skills to avoid his power punch he pretty much can't do much. Yes he won against Gane but barely and that's because Gane doesn't have ground skills. Gane's speed on the feet neutralized Ngannou's power. Jones will beat him. I even fancy Aspinal to beat him, he is a lot more rounded and skilled than Ngannou.
Wilder vs Ngannou is a easy sell are you crazy.. also Ngannou vs Ruiz makes sense.. revenge for aj ko man who kod aj.. another easy sell is Ngannou vs Jarrel Miller also Ngannou vs Joe Joyce is a decent scrap

He is better than before. He has matured as a fighter. If you still want to discredit him then that's a sad way to view things.
Was hard to see him kod felt sad for the guy even though he made millions 😅
Fury was Francis first fight now everyone has tape on his weakness.
As far as boxing who could possibly care? He got his paydays now he can go back to UFC and get crushed by Bones.
Wilder in boxing 🥊 or mma ! or second choice prob someone like Big Baby Miller imo prob best choice since it’s a layup …
The fury rematch is always going to be there. If jake paul wins against tyson. Then paul vs ngannou would definitely sell big ppv numbers
Wouldn't complain with ngaunnou Vs chisora. And maybe AJ Vs hrgvoic
If the jones fight isn't there he should retire a rich man
Amen don't risk again no need too. Support AJ and boxing from Cameroon living the good life.
Ngannou vs Whyte heard it here first
YOU MAY NOT BE INTERESTED HIM. BUT WE WANT TO SEE HIM IN BOXING.
i think he could beat Wilder if he has Andy Lee or Ben Davison training him, he def has a better chance against Wilder than any other top 30 boxer as Wilder's boxing is almost as limited as Ngannou, would be interesting fight!!!!
They want the AJ - Fury fight so bad, I’m afraid Usyk has such an uphill battle. Usyk will be fighting Fury, the ref, the judges and boxing politics.
Ngannou vs joe joyce
Ultimately YT boxing is taking the piss out of boxing and will ruin it in the long run.
No one stopping AJ just give him all the belts. Francis go back to MMA.
Ngannou VS Wallin or Wilder.
Still loads of fights for him and will earn loads more in boxing.
Ngannau vs Wilder !!!
Maybe they'll give Francis one more chance.......perhaps against Dillian Whyte ??
I wished ngannou tried climbing the ranks the right way like everyone else that goes to mma. BUT he cant defend the right and anyone that watch him v fury was hoping he improved.
Are ppl forgetting ngannou is a MMA fighter. Why are speaking about as if he’s a top contender for the heavyweights. I understand he embarrassed fury but ain’t we getting ahead of ourselves. It’s kind of dangerous for him to be fighting fighters at the top level it’s dangerous
No, what next, call it a day after the big pay day
Fury could of been told to take it the full 10 rounds.
Cope
Rico Verhoeven vs Francis Ngannou.
Winner fights Chisora 🥊
Black shorts that's what's next for Francis he's NOT a female power ranger
I would like to see Ngannu fight Wilder. Both have limited boxing ability and this would determine if he should stay in boxing.
Heard he wants a rematch with AJ 😂😂😂
