Been a long road. I actually work sales in Roswell NM now. I loved being a flight attendant but with the pandemic I wouldn’t get near it. Thanks for stopping by!
I applied to mesa airlines, but I am a little lost with applying with the "Applicants must also complete an online video questionnaire." I don't know how to do that or how to get to it. I don't want my application to be over looked. A foot in the door to be a flight attendant so why not.
So you record yourself answering questions. It’s something that should he sent automatically once your application. Pretty basic to do. But my sister works for them and they are asking employees to do voluntary leave so they might not bring on people for awhile :/
@@travelswithtravis0117 I only got an email of my application, I didn't get anything about a video. So that is why I am a bit lost. Also thank you for taking the time to respond. Thank you so much for the information.
Sometimes it can take a long time. I applied for American early summer one time and didn’t get a video interview until October! Best of luck! Thank you for stopping by!
Hey Travis, Great Video! Quick question I know u said the benefits are with AA and United but Im from a small town that only has Delta fly in at the regional airport. Would I be able to use Delta by any chance to fly back home to visit my family on my days off or would I have to fly AA or United only?
Ummmmm. I think you can fly on other carriers for a discount if they still do it that way. It’s called like ZED fare I believe. It’s been 6 years since I’ve been there so it may have changed 😅
Is being a flight attendant at Mesa really as bad as people say it is ? I've read really negative reviews on glassdoor and indeed about being a flight attendant at Mesa. Thanks !
Yes and no. If you make the best of it and take the time to travel about once you get a line it can be a lot of fun. But if you really get bogged down on reserve with bass assisting and assignments you hate it can really be a pain. I was lucky when I was hired because I got off of reserve two months after and was very high in seniority and was able to travel to many fun places. I was spoiled but that’s not everyone’s story
Hey, Travi,, I'm struggling with recording myself for the Video interview. I have 6 days left to take it.Any suggestions. I would appreciate it. I can't seem to keep express myself like I want to.
The Mesa interview is really chill from what I recall. I know it’s hokey and over said to say “be yourself”. It’s true BUT the interviews don’t want to hear how “you love to travel” because they hear that from every single applicant. You want a professional demeanor while staying what you can provide the company and customers. Maybe it’s a warm smile and a cheerful attitude even when it’s tough or reliability and dependency when that’s what counts most as they need prompt on time employees to keep up with the departure times. That’s what’s important to American as they keep tabs on those stats. I would suggest standing out by focusing on those things versus what enjoyment you’d get out of the position. That goes without saying. Hopefully that helps!
Thanks so much, Travis. I just completed the interview. 1 minute is not enough time to express true passion, but I did my best. I never mentioned my love for traveling. I took your advice. I talked about what I can provide to hospitality and safety. The retakes where unlimited which was great, because I definitely needed a few of those. Lol!!! It went well. I'm sure it could have been better. I think I presented too much of a serious look on my face, but I let them know my abilities. I've never been a flight attendant, but I worked four 15 years serving customers at family owned restaurants and Pizzeria. I think it says a lot in it's self. Not many people can say that. Thanks so much Travis for the advice. You are outstanding. Happy 😊 New Year, Man!!
Yes and no. In training you list your bases you prefer in order. But the company sends you where they need you regardless. They do consider your request and will send you their if they have need.
So what they do is when you get say assigned DFW and you wanted PHX, it will still know you wanted PHX. So they will send you to Phoenix when they have an opening. So it depends on when they have an opening and where in line your at.
I couldn’t say what bases they will intend on expanding to. But they are usually pretty good on getting back to applicants in under a month. Then again with Covid not sure if any of that process is currently slowed or disrupted.
Hey! I’m applying when I come back from military training, I was wondering how long does it take to get a response back if your application got accepted? I heard mainlines take months but no one has ever covered for regional.
Mainlines can be a long time or short depending on how aggressively they are hiring. Mesa can be and usually is quick. But with Covid going on who knows! Good luck out there!
I just got in and I'm now going to training in a week. They took about a month to respond at first then it took about 2 weeks for the response with interview. I'm a vet so good luck in training
As someone who lives is California and is interested in applying, would I have to move to the same state as a base if I did get hired or is there some kind of living arrangement for employees?
When you train you live in Phoenix. However if you’re assigned to DFW it’s recommended strongly you move to Dallas. You could stay in California but you would have to commute back and forth. Which is very risky especially on reserve. Reserve shifts are early and you’d have to fly in the day before and stay overnight in town whether in hotel or a friend. People who try that don’t last long. Hope that helps!
Hi, I'm Vietnamese and I'm currently working as flight attendant for an airline in VN. I have question that does Mesa airline allow people who is not US citizen to apply? Do they support us with the paper work process? I graduated University in VN already , do they accept my certificates or GED is a must? Hope you can see my questions and drop me some information so I know what to prepare. I really love working for US airlines. Thank you and take care..
Hi!! Thanks for stopping by. You know I don’t fully know the answer to that question. My educated guess would say yes, they will help, but I’m not 100% sure. My sister actually still works for them. Let me ask her and see what she says!
Travels With Travis I work for amazon too but I applied for Mesa Airlines got the video to the interview today but I also applied to their airlines Omni and OSM also I’m looking into travel nurse
Yes makes sense. I was curious if you already worked a full time, that were would be a way to keep that job and pick up flight especially since its regional.
