Königstein Fortress (German: Festung Königstein), the "Saxon Bastille", is a hilltop fortress near Dresden, in Saxon Switzerland, Germany, above the town of Königstein on the left bank of the River Elbe. It is one of the largest hilltop fortifications in Europe and sits atop the table hill of the same name.
The 9.5 hectare rock plateau rises 240 metres above the Elbe and has over 50 buildings, some over 400 years old, that bear witness to the military and civilian life in the fortress. The rampart run of the fortress is 1,800 metres long with walls up to 42 metres high and steep sandstone faces. In the centre of the site is a 152.5 metre deep well, which is the deepest in Saxony and second deepest well in Europe.
The fortress, which for centuries was used as a state prison, is still intact and is now one of Saxony's foremost tourist attractions, with 700,000 visitors per year.( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6... )

Na samym wejściu Grzegorz już widać co nas czeka: 0:21 .... wspaniale położona - ogromna twierdza - perła saskiej Szwajcarii....znaną mi tylko z filmików .
No to jedziemy - 0:35.....super rozwiązanie z windą dla starszych pań jak ja :))) .Fantastyczne panoramiczne widoki z góry !
Świetnie pokazałeś potęgę murów obronnych i piękno wieżyczek ......taki spacer po murach obronnych wokół to pewnie ponad 1 km.?...chyba miałabym lęk wysokości . Cudowne spojrzenie na miasteczko położone nad brzegiem Łaby .

+Ela Ciejka Pięknie Ci Elu dziękuję za ten ogromny komentarz i wnikliwą analizę mojego filmu :) Muszę Ci napisać, że w tym miejscu są nawet dwie windy - jedna towarowa (wywożą nią nawet samochody na górę) - i druga przeszklona panoramiczna osobowa. Bilet na windę jest jeden - i jak nie wiesz gdzie się z tym biletem udać to trafisz do windy towarowej - jako i ja trafiłem :) - jazda nią jest pozbawiona niestety walorów wizualnych. W drodze powrotnej wybrałem jednak windę osobową by zrekompensować sobie popełniony z początku błąd :) I niewątpliwie obiekt jest bardzo dobrze przystosowany dla osób o słabej kondycji fizycznej - jak i dla osób z kondycji całkowitym brakiem. Nawet z dolnego parkingu jeżdżą pociągi turystyczne pod samą windę (jakiś 1km piechotą bo dla nieupoważnionych pojazdów zakaz wjazdu). Trasa po murach nie jest wyczerpująca - wszędzie są chodniczki, ławeczki i można tam spędzić cały dzień - niemniej obejście murów dookoła to jakieś 4-5km piechotą - ja zrobiłem po samej fortecy 5km a nie obszedłem jej dookoła bo fragment muru był zamknięty z powodu jakiegoś remontu.
Na miejscu oczywiście jest i knajpka - można się uraczyć niemieckim piwem i coś przekąsić. Tyle pozytywów. A z negatywów - człowiek czuje się tam trochę intruzem. Płacisz za bilet i wyjeżdżasz na górę - a na górze wszystko działa jak przedsiębiorstwo popularne u nas czyli ZUS - pracownicy zajmują się sprawami swojej firmy i innych pracowników - turyści im w tym raczej przeszkadzają. Wiele z obiektów na górze było zamkniętych, w remontach, albo zgoła używanych do czegoś niewiadomego - i z turystyką nie mającego nic wspólnego. Tak więc wyprawa na górę jest zalecana raczej dla koneserów pięknych widoków - a nie zabytkowych fortyfikacji :) Pozdrawiam serdecznie i miłego dnia życzę! Grzegorz

Oh, I see, you were in Germany in the Saxon Switzerland, it's wonderful there. Glad I here again can see the fort, because we were there and there was a storm with heavy snowfall on (in May! Last year), so we had to leave the castle to healing our car with summer tires back to the valley we arrive :-) had not another opportunity to come to the fortress, beautiful, to watch it here. Ciekawe miejsce, Grześku! Podobają mi się te skalne wstawki w ścianach zewnętrznych (podobne rozwiązanie widywałem we Francji). Muzeum ładnie zadbane, widok z góry też całkiem sobie, robi wrażenie :) Lubię takie miejsca :) Pozdrawiam serdecznie!
