Turtle Power! Myo Two finger resin printed prosthetic hand
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 лис 2020
- This was one of my first printed myo prosthetic hands. it uses fsr sensors ( force sensitive resistors) to sense the motion request and endpoints for the servos. The motion and graphics are processed through a metro mini. the display is a huge advent to the prosthetic device so you can see what mode you are in.

As someone who had an accident 4 years ago (broke every bone in my left arm. Not to worry, after 2 surgery's my left arm us perfectly fine) I was worried I would never be able to use my left arm again. I had to wait 3 days in the hospital for the first reconstructive surgery cuase they needed to fly a specialist in to do it. (The surgery was apparently such a rare occurence that they needed to also set up a recording for future instruction. I had to sign a release form for them to use it as a teaching tool.) The entire time I was worried and wondered if my arm would need to have implants just to function. It really opened my eyes and made me realize we do not have enough people in the medical field working on adequate prosthetics for people in need. Practical, affordable solution's to robot prosthetics should be in big demand. I am happy you are at least trying to prove these things are possible. I truly hope your work can open up some minds to these ideas. Best of luck in all you do 😀👍
Not funny
Idk
lol
And now you're also a source of learning for generations to come.
You know why
"too many looks" yeah I hate it when everyone thinks I'm a badass ninja cyborg too...
IK you’re joking but I couldn’t imagine how embarrassed I would be and frustrated if everyone was starting at me like there was something wrong with me.
@@cIockwis_e I'd cut of a hand just to have one of of these (but more R&D).
*ninja turtle cyborg
@Bonnie BRO did you just copy this comment?
Trust me, you would hate it, with a vengeance. I've had an invisible disability for years, and it hasn't been bothering me at all. But now it does, to the point where I don't really want to go shopping, as I can't wear a face mask. Those looks, being different, I can feel that now.
'it was a neat concept but... yano... too many looks'
that saddened me for some reason, when it shouldn't have done :/
It’s disappointing people aren’t comfortable with accepting others differences, seeing something this badass in public and feeling uncomfortable isn’t something people should be on either end of. Keep up the good work and maybe enough eyes will get on this and the rest of your vids to normalize prosthetics for those who need them.
@@dancingtiger577 It might be not so much that the prosthetics make people uncomfortable, but rather that it stands out. If something stands out you'll look at it. That doesn't say anything about if you think it's good/bad. And drawing a lot of looks just for existing can make many people uncomfortable, regardless of why they're looking, when all you want is just to be normal.
That's all just my opinion. Maybe it does make people uncomfortable for all I know.
TBH I would look at it. That thing is badass and even cooler since he built it himself. There's a lot to admire about this guy and his creations.
he never said bad looks there probably just admiring it
I think it looks badass :)
This is actually sick. I'm 19 and watching this and, not even an engineering student, I'm really impressed hearing you talk about it and go through all the settings in detail. I love hearing people talk about stuff like this and I'm truly amazed to see you able to make these devices on top of your setbacks, even actually using your creations to eliminate those setbacks. Honestly, I'm amazed, you have all of my praise.

Really cool engineering and aesthetic
Your comments about patent rights are so relevant to driving the design and building of more of these kind of devices. You might consider going open source on your designs to encourage the maker movement to get involved. Show us more details of what you are doing. Why has the robotics industry not picked up on what you are doing? I am so amazed at the level of skill sets that I see on youtube and you are one of the best ever. This is as life changing as the events that took away your physical abilities. I am in awe.
Are you an engineer or are you just gifted at this kind of stuff?

Right?
The first thing that comes to my mind is
Lmao scientist waste about millions of dollar and decades on making a prospective arm and you can make one homemade
it's not a waste when not nearly enough resources go into making things like this easier to use, more versatile, and cheaper for anyone who needs one to have and use without specialized tools or knowledge.
