There is a mugen video where the two are combined. It's pretty awesome. The characters are matched to their closest counterparts from each game. The SNK characters lose though.
Fun fact: it actually did! In 1999 gaming magazine Game Machine touted it as the most successful arcade fighting game of the year, the same year third strike came out.

I once found a copy of this for the Playstation at a bus stop on my way home from school. It was too scratched to play, but I kept it anyway. Looked for a copy to buy, and around that time, it was almost $120.
If someone CAN upscale the game and make it playable like this… I WILL STOP playing other fighting game to play THIS… It looks like a complete new art style. If MODDERS CAN DO THIS IN A NEAR FUTURE THEN I’m ON

I love this game! The designs, visuals, soundtrack and gameplay are all perfect. The storyline is also well developed.

Rock has to work his ASS off to get big combos in this game. It's not wise to fish for those in a quarter muncher.
