I'm glad you enjoyed the performance! Celine Dion is one of Oscar's most welcomed performer on that platform. This one was particularly nice during the heydays of her popularity and her vocal prowess. To be asked to sing for Natalie Cole so last minute and not having time to fully rehearse the lyrics and melody is the type of showman professionalism and elegance she possesses. I loved it! She has great knack for making her own interpretation of the music. I would have liked to hear Natalie Cole's version too. :)
she never had practiced the song before since she was only given a days notice. if you have noticed, there were parts of the lyrics she had skipped, i presumed that she may missed her cues since i dont think she is fully familiar with the song. but still, she is a pro, she aced the performance.
I actually saw an interview when Celine spoke about this scenario. She didnt know the song at all, so she said she will do it and sing the song, if there will be a stand with words for her to read. She still freaken nailed it

Hi Chris, you are absolutely right....I can't believe how effortless she sounded during her latest summer tour. I was fortunate to see her at one of her concerts. I requested already two perfomances from that tour. One of them was Think Twice.....so let's hope JustTheVoice will react to one of this performances soon :))
