To add an update to this, and the Theravada tradition, there are at least seven buddhas, the reference to Maitreya Buddha, Gautama Buddha, and at least 28 other Buddhas.
Well the tradition does not accept the idea or at least it's not popularized of celestial buddhas, the truth is that this tradition and Mahayana are much closer than first appears.
