@@MacHenk007I like watching Reid Duke too because he prefers to play the green/creature decks and gives a different perspective on the draft than the Blue Gamers™
Just finished the draft portion and I’m excited to see you talk yourself out of siding in the winter orb every match. 5 color nonsense in cube is wonderful.
personally i would disagree that lingering souls really did much at all in that first game; the grief taking away their spell for mana draining you is imo what set you up. combo'd with the op hamster becoming a 10/10 after 2 turns waaas pretty much the tide turner i think lmfao. opp seemed to have gotten greedy w/ the petty theft and wanted to draw too bad but anyway, not tryin to hate. normally dont comment but felt i'd share :)
This isn't really a ragavan deck. You want a lot of cheap interactive spells to play him (also we just needed fixing more than anything in the world and He's not really fixing)
The deck is simply mana-hungry. So you’ve got Sol Ring and Mox Jet which can be killer, but only 15 lands. Chrome Mox works well with low land counts ✔️. Lotus Petal fixes but it’s temporary. Yeah, with this type of deck, Mox Jet should be played as a mana-accelerant and not replace a land because with SEVEN 4-drops & FOUR 5-drops, all you wanna do is make land drops. Specifically I would have excluded the Vampiric Tutor (always tutoring for mana-/color-fixing), and the Tezzeret (the one time it was played, you whiffed on an artifact and passed on the opportunity to make a 5/5 (for fear of Venser) when the deck only has 4 artifacts to hit that you desperately needed for mana anyway). Then upping your count by two more lands. Awesome of you to play 5-color soup.dec! It had the tools to be great.
Not gonna lie; I was screaming at my screen for you to take ramunap excavator on the second passthrough of pack 1. You had strip mine which with Excavator is a 2 card "Oops your lands are gone"; I understood why you took the triome for fixing but Ramunap was in Jund Colours.
A straight jund deck would have been better. You base your picks on the idea that you will usually have Sol ring for some reason. You Could have had Ragavan, tree speaker, birds, excavator+strip, and hex drinker. That's a lot more turn 1 plays that work well and fix you for you 4 mana plays.
The amount of times I've cheesed wins with Winter Orb is hilarious 'cause Winter Orb is absolutely cheesy with Sol Ring. I had a draft where I had an Urza Artifact deck to tap the orb just to be even more evil.
I wonder about Caleb always talking about haters ("you're not drafting to optimize win rate only", etc.). I guess I see some of those comment in comments sections sometimes? 15 comments in and not one negative comment yes, and a lot of enthusiastic support. The haters exist, and often stick with us more than positive (which is what it is and I hate the "just ignore it" narrative). Just saying though, I'm not always seeing the prevalence of negative hate that sounds like exist with Caleb's usual constant clarifications. I also think clarifying at least once is just good content. Love this channel's blend of... 1) Style and Fun Matters 2) Winning's Also Cool
It's usually later on in the videos lifespan that negative (or moreso confused?) comments show up. Like months later. All the early comments are from fans and are super friendly :)
these are just old recordings from the last time vintage cube was on mtgo. You best bet is to find a discord that runs vcube drafts and plays games on cockatrice (like mine)
Thanks for the help, excited to try your new game one day too, especially since you don't have to keep buying cards to keep up on it. This video you just posted is a pretty greedy draft like I would do. Makes me think about a comment you and other OGs made: planeswalkers hurt the game
Hey I'm glad to hear it! I hope you like Algomancy :) And I absolutely agree. Planeswalkers started this trend of single card powerhouses that can defend themselves, gain you advantage and win the game all in one. Other card design had to change to keep up, and we're here now where everything has a million lines of text on it and each card does everything.
My new card game Algomancy will be launching August 8! You can find more info here or from the video description! calebgannon.com/algomancy/
Watching Caleb eat his vegetables in one pack to "Come on Tezzy, get in the deck!" in the next pack always makes my day.
@22:00 nice of Opp to cryptic the confluence on the 3/3 hexproof land . Thanks for the draft always enjoy
Man I hope to see you do the team draft.
So far I haven't been able to get a hold of LSV
Yes, i rooted for a team draft with LSV with you as well 🤜🏻
@@CalebGannon top 4 in my favorites; you, Nummy, Benny & LSV
Edit; only these 4 btw ❤

Last pick Rishadan Port is insane
“Go for the eyes Boo,the eyes!”
So good to have you back! Love the content ❤
It is simply awesome to generate UW when there are only swamp and mountain on the board. XD
I saw this drop earlier and I have been so excited to watch all day. This just feels like my kind of content
Was not disappointed
Personally I fling the hamster much more aggressively but your Boo beatdowns got the job done so maybe I've been doing it wrong XD
I really wanted excavator looping strip mines lol
This draft is pretty bananas. Yeesh. So many choices.
Nice! I love to see a new Caleb video! I'm only at the start and the deck is looking sweet!

Love your videos man, been a fan for a while and gonna stay a fan as long as you produce sir
22:30 Here I like atacking for 8 and throwing boo at face to draw 8. You leave minsc dob to brazen but they are at 4 and you have a full grip.
You have to have little teferi to go infinite with a zero cost artifact(or sol ring/grim monolith)
Not even commented on Ragavan in pack 3 pick 1. Would be fixing+acceleration. Did you not see the monkey or choose to not pick it?

While Sol Ring is broken its one weakness is that it only taps for generic hahaha. Very funny deck I wish you drew just a little better.
No vamp for T2 Liliana in match 2? Jetmirs garden was an odd pick
54:36 wtf the matches are in the wrong order, the blue red deck was the first match, what's going on here.
Y no pauper?

did they change minsc for cube? its 100% 5 mana walker
nope, its always been 4 mana scryfall.com/card/clb/285/minsc-&-boo-timeless-heroes
