I find the easiest way to do first test is to lay washer on its back, look underneath for any leak spots on the pump, and you can also inspect the coupler and see what leval of rust you have. Check the legs next because you never know where you will be installing or how the floor conditions are. Do the legs first, or they will come back to haunt you on the install 👻. Check dog ears in the agitator, first sign of overloading. Next I like to use a lid switch bypass that you can make from the wire harness from a scrapped washer. This will allow you to remove the entire cabinet so you can watch the washer wash. (3xfast) lol. I don't see the need to test all the water levels as Whirlpool pressure switches are notoriously reliable. This also lets you test the pump and see if there is anything floating around in between the tubs. When I establish that the washer is worthy of a rebuild, then I pull the drum and clean it. This allows you to check for damage and excessive rust. If the washer drum is no good, you can save drum from scrapped washers or many HE Whirlpool washer porcelain drums. Then decide if you want to re seal the tub seal or go the rest of the way and pull the outer tub off and replace. It is only a $5 part and an cause major damage to customers home and you have to do a tub seal in their house or swap the washer. I find so many bypassed lid switches where there is nothing even wrong with it, just lazy used appliance shops. They also bypass hi limit thermostats and thermal fuses. Too many people out here "fixing" and flipping washers that will only last a short time and break down again. I'm going back to the video now. Sorry, had thoughts to type.

Man I don't have a garage but I may experiment on a machine and dryer. My wife won't like it because we have no basement but I'm curious to see how this will work out.
