It's cool to finally see these getting mass produced. I prefer the 6x6 FMTV builds and considering looking to pick one up used as a upgraded RV to live in. I thought about building my own but at last I don't have money, time nor the space available.
Very nice rv truck, but let me criticise two things in layout. In a such big rv the shower should be separated. And second, the bedroom must have a door to preserve warm air in winter. Above that it’s a stunning house on wheels. What about the price?
@@Maxxxi2268 the climate system in the truck is good enough that you can have completely separate temperatures in three different areas of the living quarters!! I lived in the truck for 14 days and we went in a mix of freezing and 100° environments.
As soon as he said it lacks power at highway speed I was out!. I own a new Chevy 2500HD Crew cab (gas) running 35” tires and an Arctic Fox 811 slide out camper. My camper has everything from generator to ability to sleep 5 with wet bath. Truck and camper weighs 12633 lbs and I have run 80 mph all day headed to the keys.
The PACCAR PX-7 is essentially a rebranded version of the Cummins ISB 6.7-liter engine. Both engines share the same core architecture, components, and design features.
The number of buyers is very likely aligned with their ability to build a few hundred of these a year. If you want a $35,000 RV made of 2x2's knock yourself out. We on the other hand will be flying to Birmingham.

@rd4660 for the western us most likely but gxv stands for global expedition vehicle. ive seen pictures of these all over the world, hundreds of miles away from any kind of civilization. definitely no pavement princess here.
@@LakeLifeTrucker This will not fit on the majority of trails in Colorado or the East coast. These are meant for high desert and desert terrain, or places that do not have a lot of trees.

Yacht style appointments well beyond the fridge, a shame more builders arent taking this approach.
Yacht prices and sensibility. Most RV are like houseboats, fancy inside but never far from help or too far off the beaten path.
@@Adiscretefirm some things like the locking drawer latches don't draw a significant cost difference.
@@Stylefront I think that's the yacht sensibility. Houseboat RV would put that money into tile and granite and looks.

I think the tires they have to use to keep a decent load rating when they go to single rears are limited to 65 mph anyway.

I’m confused about the engine option. Their website states it’s powered by a Cummins while Kenworth only makes the K270 and 370 with a Paccar 6.7L.

Behemoth is right. Too heavy and too tall to go very far off-road in the western US. It's more of a pavement queen than an overlander.
