      This man alone gave Trump the final Push pass the finish. Line.
      His biggest dream is for some great analysis to come out and prove that his reopening, the investigation didn’t alter the election.
      Gonna happen historians will remember him for what he did right wrong that’s for him to live with, but he gets no forgiveness here.
      The best we can do is to hope that the Supreme Court justices and other people that are in a position right now to do the right thing actually does the right thing .

      Blame all you want but it was the electoral college system and voters that brought us DJT. Trump hardly won in a landslide because of Comey's press announcement, he lost the popular vote. I thought so until I heard the process he went through to make his decision. This interview makes me think things a little differently. I also think that sometimes history was already written. Because of what Trump's Presidency has taught us, we now are armed with the knowledge of what was always there..but not out in the open. A lot of the issues we are dealing with now, have to be dealt with at some time. I do believe that as a nation..we are better able to handle the threat to our democracy. And I believe good will prevail, and that those that want harm to befall on those not like them..they will recede back into the cracks of irrelevancy...or better yet..incarcerated.

      @@lisal9829 No. The only reason he’s ever given is that he felt that since he had already made a public announcement and also testified before Congress saying one thing, when they decided to reopen the investigation, that he had to take the initiative and go give everyone an update.
      He felt that if he didn’t give an update, then he would be lying by omission, and that would be a corrupt act. But he hadn’t been called to testify again, and there’s no expectations that if a person testifies before Congress that they have to continuously update the Congress of any changes after their testimony. Also it’s against DOJ and FBI protocol to discuss ongoing investigations with the public.
      So his reasoning is that, even though there’s no protocol saying to do it, and in fact, protocol states that he shouldn’t be doing some of it, even so, he would feel guilty if he didn’t tell everyone once he knew the investigation was being reopened. And since he was making his decision based upon his own feelings of guilt, instead of basing it on protocol, he chose to tell everyone.

He would like to be found irrelevant to the 2016 election, but remember where I was and exactly what I was doing when he announced that he would reopen the Clinton case. I was sitting on a hard cafeteria bench waiting for parents to come in for their student’s conferences. I listened to the glee of my republican friends and colleagues as his announcement came out and I watched the poles flip against Hillary Clinton. He was instrumental in demoralizing millions of American democrats who wound up not voting because Comey gave validity (falsely) to Trumps “Crooked Hillary” narrative. I’ve heard nothing on this episode to contradict my belief, even though I listened to the entire pod cast almost hoping he’d convince me that he’d had a valid reason. At least Micheal Cohen has a redemption arc and is trying to do the right thing now. Cohen has also paid the consequences of this actions. Comey has no regrets, and it appears no remorse. I am all in for people that pay the consequences for their actions and I believe they can be redeemed - if they want to. I guess it is not a total loss of an interview. It merely reinforces what many people believe about Comey.

    • @Liberal.Linda.
      @Liberal.Linda. 26 днів тому

      You know, that's a really good point. Not only has Michael Cohen thrown himself on his sword multiple times to prove his apologies, he's worked his butt off taking real action to redeem himself. The NY DA before Bragg closed the election interference case (hush money) against Donald, so Cohen started releasing evidence to the press, like the recordings, to force the DA to open it up again. He put himself in real danger doing that because he got umpteen death threats.
      Comey refuses to admit he did anything wrong, and instead wants us to buy his novel so he can live his pretend author dream. gag
      Michael Cohen gave us probably the only criminal conviction we're going to get before the election. Comey's trying to hock a novel. One definitely deserves praise and it's NOT the guy who thinks he's a fiction writer.

    Great interview. I know the comments on here are pretty rough, but I'm glad you are willing to bring controversial people on here. I know I've had to sit out a couple episodes because I didn't want to listen to a full hour with the person at hand, but I'm glad I listened to this one. I guess I don't resent Comey the way a lot of people do. Part of that is because I don't think his letter was the decisive factor in the election. If he can help at all during this election, I'm glad to have him on our side because he is an intelligent and principled person despite making some past mistakes. And that story about Ashcroft at the hospital was really something. Takes my respect for the Bush White House down a notch, but shows why we need independent and principled people in positions to stand up to those who would abuse power.
