- An amazing collaboration between Cappella Amsterdam and Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra. Imagine wandering around the streets of medieval Cordoba. What music would you have been hearing? Who would have been playing?
This is the result of a search for a common sound. The Cantigas de Santa Maria and classical Arab-Andalusi meet each other in a wonderful way.

I am Moroccan and I have lots of respect to my fellow Moriccan Musicians. I just love their talent..., but what made more proud of my origin is this initiative of fusion between two cultures, two histories, two ethnically defirent people...to work together in such glorious harmony with beautiful voices to sing together is just excellent with no value..! Morocco was always a bridge between Europe and both Aftica and the Arab world..., meaning that fusion between music and cultural diversity is the only way to peace coexistence tolerance and living together, recognizing each other accepting our deference if there is any....! We are all human beings we share everything in deferent way, styles and manners..but we remain human beings...! This initiative leaded and headed by my fellow Moroccans is just a gift from God...! Thank you all

Christians or Jews or Muslims we are all believe in one God despite the fact that we call him deferent name depending on our language, and we are all praying him, and we all end our prayer by saying AMEN...

I am grateful for the sharing.
I started life in Tunisia, where “Andalusi” was often played on the radio , and there were a lot of small venue concerts.
The content is very deep “as in spiritual “ and could lead to contemplation.
Andalusi is also a last name and kind of meant from Andalusia , absorbed by Spain. You know the tail of Human behavior.
The unity among the musicians feels transcendental.

فلعبت مدرسة الطليطلة العاصمة التي استرجعها دورا كبيرا في استعاب المسيحيون الموسيقى العربية اليهودية .

فعلا و لكن الانغام مستلحمة من الطرب العربي الموريسكي حينذاك .
فلعبت مدرسة الطليطلة ، العاصمة وفتذاك ، و التي استرجعها < آلونسو السابيو > alfonfo el sabio دورا كبيرا في إستعاب مسيحيو مملكة قسطلا ( القوة الصاعدة ) الموسيقى العربية المسلمة العبرية التي نَمَتْ منذ اكثر من خمسة قرون في الجزيرة الابيرية .
The Cantigas de Santa Maria where heavily influenced, in more ways than one, by Al-Andalus' music, which at the time was the musical capital of the world.
They mixed another musical tradition, that's different yet still simmilar, to create this beautiful concert. It works on an artistic level and historically it isn't that far-fetched too. So what's your problem?
@@Ziad3195 It's not my problem, it's yours, Castile was not influenced by Al Andalus to the degree that you claim, medieval European music was very similar to Castilian music.
@@celtibero9742 That's incorrect. We're in the 13th century here, and Al-Andalus was renowned as the musical capital of the world. It wasn't until after its fall that Andalusi music was suppressed, and Castile attempted to emulate other Christian European musical styles. Ironically, Andalusi influences was already absorbed into the very fabric of the land's folk music (and would influence flamenco).
