I could be wrong, but I'm guessing that maybe she's had to deal with them in some capacity in her life. Thankfully I personally haven't, but a good friend of mine has a younger sister that had to go there, and it's almost an 8 hour drive from here. Thankfully that was about 15 years ago, and she's perfectly healthy to this day. (Sorry for the long and probably boring reply.)

This show is based in Atlanta, Georgia, where soul food is very popular. Soul food usually consists of fried chicken, mac and cheese, biscuits, and even turnip greens. While she definitely should've said something else, at least 1 person saying turnip greens wouldn't be that surprising if they asked 100 people in the Atlanta area. If she had said chicken or mac and cheese they probably would've clutched it.

Except maybe Florida, Southern states are generally conservative and probably would not have many doctors; this could either be due to being too poor or too stingy (though I'd bank more on the former). To make matters worse, Southern states are less densely populated than Northern states; in some instances, Northern states have larger populations than Southern ones. Combining the factors would be a surefire way to indicate that any Southern state other than maybe Florida (and with more emphasis on maybe, Texas) would be such a dreadful answer you may as well slap her upside the head.

I'm currently watching this episode and before it ended i paused it and looked up 199 points on family feud and this came up
Man, I saw this one on TV a couple weeks ago and didn’t realize how old the episode was. I had never seen this one but thought it was a later than this. When that chick said her terrible answers, I thought they had NO shot, but dude came up with just brilliant answers and almost pulled it out. All she needed was ONE better answer and they win. The only answer he technically could have done better was the last one and he got 40 freaking points for the answer he gave. So that means the #1 answer knees was worth at least 41 points and they’d have won if he said that. But I am NOT blaming this on him. The girl gave 4 awful answers and made it too difficult for him. For the turnips greens one, I’m pretty sure that those 7 people really said vegetables and so greens are vegetables, at least I hope! Lol The other inexcusable answer from her was Tennessee. Just freaking say New York, Florida, Texas, any reasonable answer that gets you some points. She cost her family 20K.
