- My HP Elitebook 8560p used to perform nice and fast when it was newer. After a few years, it significantly lost performance. With the old HDD I booted in 2:02 and had very sluggish performance when using basic applications and doing general browsing.
In this video, I show you how to upgrade to the HP SSD S700 2.5". It boosted my machine tremendously. It now boots in a speedy 29 seconds and is buttery smooth in regular operations.

Thank you so much. Worked great. The SSD is faster , maybe not that much faster for all the hoopla. I had tried with Minitools but two programs didn't open. With Macrium all is working well.
Thanks for the video. Though I'll prefer a fresh installation instead. 10Q again
Hi, the video is very useful, thanks! Can you tell me if you know if this laptop can take a M.2 NVMe disk? Thanks!
Thanks👍🏻
Great Video. Thanks Jake!. But Macrium Reflect did not work for me. I tried cloning my HDD to my new SAMSUNG 860 EVO SSD. and got this error twice. so i'm going to give it a try to EaseUS tool.
"Clone failed - Error 9 - Read failed - 23 - Data error (cyclic redundancy check)."
this is an dram-less drive but my computer, that didn't move. took 15 minutes to start. it looks like a Formula 1 now lol. imagine a drive with dram
What about performance after ssd? Can uh tell me? 😊
Can i use one 4gb ram and 8gb ram in another slot to get 12gb ? Please help me
This laptop has SATA2 OR SATA3?
I have this problem with this upgrade: I've installed the same HP SSD into the same EliteBook 8560p laptop, but when I turn "SATA max speed" in BIOS setup to 6.0 Gbps, the drive works extremely slow. The read speed is okay, but the write speed is only 2.96 Mb/s
I didn't change anything in the BIOS for mine. I just left it at SATA II. If you figure out how to get SATA III working, please let us know.
