It's a Math shortage. 80% of the country Can Not rent a 2 bedroom apartment unless your yearly income is over 55k. 65k if it's in a city. $25 hour wage is still under this threshold. There seems to be no floor to stand on, no place to start, that isn't already behind.

We have alot of workers here leaving work over the Vax mandates. Most worked through the whole lockdown and now are looking at unemployment since here it pays better or moving to Florida or Texas. Medical folks are going to NY and NJ to fill in for fired workers leaving shortages here. I can't believe biden and crew could cause this much damage in 9 months.

"Way to heavy" I've seen drivers pick up cans like that all the time where I work. The front of the truck lifts in the air and they slowly pick it ups. If he weren't on camera he'd have probably picked it up. These are some hard working people, salt of the earth that make the place run. If I wasn't 53 and retiring from my job soon, I'd take a job on the back of a trash truck. You never see fat out of shape guys working on the back. Its hard work and a great workout. I'm probably too old for to be working the back of a trash truck. You always see young guys doing it.

All the comments about how no one wants to work and “I’d do this job” are cute. Not many people want to be a garbage man or would handle the physical demands. 100 degrees or -40, rain or snow you have to get out and work in it. That’s hard for all the softies of the world to handle. The old saying “you want the garbage man’s service, but you don’t want him living in your neighborhood” applies to most people.

Sooo, we are 100 years or so behind on management of our forests. Imagine if you piled up your trash for a year in front of your house, it would take days to collect. Except it was 100 years for the forests, and like all people in all neighborhoods worth of space. Now throw in warming temperatures from exiting the ice age (or climate change, same result), and imagine the trash piles can light on fire if left in the sun and years behind on trash collection.

I used to deliver gasoline and diesel to convenience stores and stations. We got paid by the load. It always sucked to get loaded , drive an hour across Houston, get to the drop point only to see an abandoned car parked over the filling ports. Then wait for a wrecker to tow them off. Less loads , smaller paychecks. Pay truckers by the hour! That's why i got out of it. You pay me by the hour , then the traffic jams become the company's problem, the breakdowns become the company's problem. Etcetera. Greedy companies = no workers.
