A flyer zipper is very common in trousers and most time people find it difficult to sew a flyer zipper and in this video i showed the easiest way to attach a flyer zipper on an trouser or short. This tutorial is beginner friendly.

So did you sew the shorts at 5/8ths seam allowance and the zip fly at 1/4th of an inch? Then when tracing your zip fly and zip guard, what seam allowance do you add to that? Thank you so much for this video! Super easy and straight forward, just would like to know what measurements you’re sewing.

If it's elastic you will take same measurement for both the waist and the hips plus allowance. Then you insert your elastic.

Thank u Ada I Learned how to make men sewing too. But this zip aspect have been holding me back from regularly sewing the one with zip. If I understand u which side is the two in one fly stay viewing it from the front right or left. Also does it mean that the fly represents the lining that we add to our blouses at the back zip side.

The way you fix this zip is different from the way you fix the zip for blouses, skirt and gown. The fly can face any side depending on whether you are sewing for a man or woman.

Your teaching is good ;but from the moment you start joining the crotch you didn't say which side you were starting with ,then you didn't say when putting the zip you mark the length then sew from where the zip length end down wards ....honestly if i didn't have a clue on sewing I dnt knw what to do from that point and the length and wide of the darts is not mentioned....plz say everything your doing some ppl know nothing sewing ....am not trying to be bad ....I just want to enlighten you on things you might have taught ppl knw
