Calabria, Italy is the place that we are lucky enough to get to call home. We live in the town of Scalea, in the region of Calabria, in Southern Italy. And, in this daily vlog, we show you a mundane, but still fun, part of our lives in Italy. We take you shopping with us, after first eating lunch. Michael shows you what could very well be the best hamburger in Scalea, Italy. Then, we go to Scalea Shopping Village, where we take you shopping with us, at Piazza Cina, followed by grocery shopping, in EuroSpin. In this video, we show that daily life in Calabria is wonderful, even when doing mundane activities.

We are American expats, living now, full time, in beautiful Calabria Italy, in wonderful Scalea. Today, we show you Belvedere Merittimo. Michael is physically disabled, with mobility issues. As we vlog Italy, we do like to show in our videos, that anyone can dare to dream of life in Italy, regardless of mobility issues. The truth is, Italy mobility can, at times, be challenging. Everywhere I have traveled I always go visit a grocery store. That’s an almost universal experience and yet the differences can teach so much. I’m soooooo impressed by the amazing display of clearly high quality products at AMAZING prices. If the DH or I drops an egg these days it’s a dollar down the drain! Roasted chicken at $10 plus here (Boston). I use the convenient pre-made food just for cooking ideas. Wonderfully informative video and you two are always riotously fun. Thank you! I’m catching up on your videos so if you see me post a lot please excuse me.

Another fabulous video of daily life in Italy 🤗 there’s some fabulous burger options now. I remember when we were there with our children years ago, they wanted burger after a week or so of pasta, you couldn’t get burger anywhere, and when you did it was just a burger, not in bread. Our Italian friend who had a restaurant in Tortora started to do them so it was a regular trip over there for amazing hand made burgers and hand made bread 😋
One of favorite things to do while in Italy was to go to the food market. Thanks for sharing. I did have to pause the video half way through to walk to my kitchen and grab a bite….made me hungry. 😀

Hi Justin and Michael ! Glad to see you appreciate Sicilian cooking, the burger seems very good with the French fries like if they were made at home...I find there is a lot of choice at euro spin, not to expensive. I like Italian meat for they made very thin slices. In food store in Sicily I like very much smoked swordfish or fresh swordfish for I didn t find them where I live. I like to go to food store abroad to discover new products, new tastes, it is part of the land s culture. Thank you for sharing simple things of your Italian life and mille baci !

Hola chicos! One of the first things I do when I travel & visit a new city is to go strait to the market. Enjoy trying new products and produce. I did enjoy your grocery shopping & comparing prices with the US. Do you have a weekly fresh farmer’s market in area? … if so, take us with you! …. Now, you shall have purchased a little bottle of limoncello & put it in the freezer …. For some after dinner night caps in your beautiful terrace. Have fuuuuuun kids !
Groceries and petrol have skyrocketed here in Australia as well because of that damn Russian!!!!! I love going to European supermarkets and seeing all the cool things . Thanks guys xx

I went shopping there when I was in Calabria. I thought I wouldn't need a cart but soon realized I did. I put my groceries down to run grab one. I tried to run out the side door and a loud alarm went off. Of course the store was crowded and I felt like the entire world was starting at me.
