I couldn't agree more. I just stumbled into cbg's about 3 months ago and I've been building them and learning how to play ever since. There's so much to them, such a cool sound and incredible versatility, yet easy to play. Cbg's are about the coolest thing going on in music right now imo.

in one word, they're are anachronistic! i've had a few, and i'm getting a bit phylosophic, so bear with me. * passes a cold one * in today's plastic age, so many things and interactions are nothing but data, and objects tend to be sleek, streamlined, mass produced and disposable soulless consumables. people crave to balance it out with things things more physical and simple. be it unknowingly or embracing it. some call it the analog revolution. the examples are countless, BBQ, steampunk, the maker movement, EDC, DIY, anything retro or vintage and the comeback of about everything ... that recently had a comeback. - i'm all with you on they joy of building instruments "can y'all stop being so twennyfirst century?"
So I want to build one of these but have started to get overwhelmed thinking of fret placement etc.. If this is my first guitar what is the easiest way to go with the build knowing I don't have playing experience? Everything else seems straightforward except the frets. Any help would be greatly appreciated as you seem to know your stuff and your guitars look/sound great.
Del and everyone else be nice.....what do you use to cut your nut slots and don't tell that welder cleaning tip thingumajig. I use maple, walnut and oak nuts most out the time and that thing sucks. Thanks for any help and for your videos.......
doggylv action perfect on every guitar and it's easy and I get better intonation ... It only makes sense for my style of build ... Try it out. I do use a small triangle file to groove tiny slots to keep the strings in position during bends ..,

go look for a fret calculator and put in your fret coun and the length of the string :)
