Plaster of Paris stands for calcium sulphate hemihydrate, which is obtained by heating the mineral, gyspum. There is a specific reason behind it's naming. In 1666AD,a great fire ravaged London, reducing its wooden buildings to ashes. Then the King of France, in order to prevent such catastrophe in his own country, ordered houses to be constructed of plaster. Paris then had rich deposits of gyspum, which was heated in large quantities to manufacture plaster and make it strong enough to withstand weight of massive buildings and hence the name, ‘Plaster of Paris ’.

1:28:55 Ans. The word was originated by a British poet in 1812, who wrote, “A new manufacture of a nectar, between soda water and ginger beer, and called 'pop,' because 'pop goes the cork' when it is drawn.” “Soda” is prevalent in the Northeast, Missouri, Illinois and parts of California

1:28:51 Why is a pop called plaster of Paris ? why not India? Ans Plaster of Paris is named after the gypsum deposits found in Montmartre, Paris. It's not named after India because it wasn't originally discovered or widely used there. The name stuck due to its association with the region where it was first extensively used. Hope my answer is right.
Sir, good teaching ,different way of teaching It is helps a lot. compare to online classes Sir bhina padaye he etna sikate ho spr ,Thank u sir for giving ur golden time(spending) for us
POP is known as plaster of Paris because Plaster is the common name for calcium sulphate hemi hydrate(CaSO4 . 1/2H2O) made by heating the mineral gypsum, the common name for sulphate of lime. Plaster was first made about 9000 years ago, and has been used by ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman civilizations. However, it wasn't used on a large scale until 1700s, when it was required to be used in all construction in Paris. In 1666, a fire raged across London, destroying many parts of it. In its aftermath, the king of France ordered that all walls made of wood in Paris be immediately covered with plaster, as a protection against such fires. This resulted in large-scale mining of gypsum which was available around Paris in huge quantities. Thus, during the early 18th century, Paris became the centre of plaster production, and hence the name, plaster of Paris. Thank me later❤😂 Bohot mehnat lagi😢😢😅

Ans.

Why?
@@your_yash69 konse colour ka hai?
1:28:51 Why is a pop called plaster of Paris ?
why not India? Ans Plaster of Paris is named after the gypsum deposits found in Montmartre, Paris. It's not named after India because it wasn't originally discovered or widely used there. The name stuck due to its association with the region where it was first extensively used. Hope my answer is right.

POP is known as plaster of Paris because
Plaster is the common name for calcium sulphate hemi hydrate(CaSO4 .
