For me it sounds kinda tragic. I don't know Touhou lore in anyways, but that ending feels like a last scream of pain, anguish, suffering, whatever you would want to call it. Take it the title of the song for example, "Galaxy Collapse". Not only this song sounds like a total collapse itself, but the ending sounds like the very last moments of the said galaxy. As a futile scream of despair, the galaxy gets erased slowly. Screaming for help that will never arrive, striving for a light that will never shine, the galaxy collapses within itself, and only the silence remains.

I like how the screaming, most intense part of the song corresponds to what was a lovely and melodic little development in the original Touhou song. Makes me wonder which other "relaxed" Touhou themes could be transformed into this kind of beastly result.

time for ZUN(Touhou developer) to add extreme level using Nue Houjuu and this song. Level is very difficult due to extremely high attack speed from Nue Houjuu, giving players a super nightmare
For most people outside of Japan it quite obscure, Touhou is self-publish by ZUN and he doesn't want to commercialize on the work so that it is fully driven by fans and the doujin circles. Touhou could be kick off in the West but ZUN doesn't want to, and it kina too late for that, somewhere around 2008 would be great for that in my opinion.

The increase in quality of Kurokotei's songs from Galaxy Collapse to some of her more recent ones (Le Porteur d'Ombre, Self-Dissociation, etc) is huge. It's a shame that the newer songs are overshadowed by GC. Don't get me wrong, GC is a solid song/remix, but I wish more people would try listening to songs past it.

it really is unfortunate, even i only really found the franchise a few weeks ago. luckily its music is pretty well known

For most people outside of Japan it quite obscure, Touhou is self-publish by ZUN and he doesn't want to commercialize on the work so that it is fully driven by fans and the doujin circles. Touhou could be kick off in the West but ZUN doesn't want to, and it kina too late for that, somewhere around 2008 would be great for that in my opinion.

The increase in quality of Kurokotei's songs from Galaxy Collapse to some of her more recent ones (Le Porteur d'Ombre, Self-Dissociation, etc) is huge. It's a shame that the newer songs are overshadowed by GC. Don't get me wrong, GC is a solid song/remix, but I wish more people would try listening to songs past it.
Galaxy Collapse has this peculiar mix of teenage angst, nostalgia, and pure chaos that makes it relatable.
