I used to be a healer and a damage dealer too. The important thing is to swap gears - healing end game gears before boss encounter if you are healing.

I love playing a healer and saving everyone's ass. Best is when your entire team gets one shotted and you revive them all and they all get one shotted again and then they get to watch you solo the boss for the next 15 minutes dead on the ground.
I would bring this guy; the healer should always be doing whatever dps they can.

@@burningshine5524For example in Balder's Gate 3, a War Domain Cleric/pact of blade Warlock can revive people using Eldridge blasts on potions then tank in the darkness with the bonus attack and heavy armor. The warlock is ironically support rather than dps and the cleric is for dps rather than healing.

@@burningshine5524 honor mode . This build is very versatile. If I chose Life Domain it wouldn't exactly go with the meme of a dps healer now would it? Tanking in darkness because with devil's sight from the warlock dip would give you advantage on hits, protection from ranged spells, disadvantage against your already high AC with heavy armor and shield as well as a cover for the entire party to pop in and out of even if they don't have devil's sight. All as low as level 4. In a pinch you can even use the bonus action attack to heal another time with healing word or attacking a potion unlike the life domain unless they duel weld which costs 2 AC of a shield. Most of the healing in Baldur's Gate 3 in combat is more about bringing up a downed character rather than bringing back to full health. Spell slots are limited while potions are plentiful.

The healer can kill in an emergency... Like if they can save someone from being sneak attacked or when no one is being attacked.

This is what happens when the damage dealers don't adequately share the spoils. There's no xp in healing.

While necromancy is late healing , DPS is preventative healing. Dead mob deals no damage!

Or actually I prefer the City of Heroes Dark/Dark Defender method of healing, which is "I'm just facerolling all my abilities debuffing and killing everything, and if my massive AoE heal/accuracy debuff and mass resurrect/AoE stun happens to heal anyone, that's just gravy."
As a healer I wish I had more groups like this. Got really tired of people getting mad because I was healing instead of fighting and boosting their DMG.

In Aion's Dredgion at lvl 50, on my cleric I had 2 outfits, 1 Chain socketed with lots of HP and another cloth, borrowed from my sorcerer, with loads of Magic Boost and Magical Accuracy.
At the first room of Dredgion, I used the cloth outfit, casted an AOE spell, quickly switched to the chain and started healing myself, having 12 Elite NPC's hammering me.
HAHA.
Whole room cleared in 1 minute and I'm alive.
From then on, I was the group healer.
Usually, we just let the healer die, and than black list them.😂
In my gaming guild, I’m happy to say we have AMAZING DPS Healers😂. They can curse and damage me and heal me back up to hurt me all over again all in seconds.

I always enjoyed the Favored Soul class in DDO. It was basically a Cleric, but it also had a DoT spell (can't remember the name) that stacked three times, and did massive bonus damage with the third stack. It was a little difficult to maintaining the third stack in between keeping the tanks alive, but it gave you something more to do other than healing.
At least he didn't yell "Leroy Jenkins!" Though would be fitting here, lol
