Wow, the neighborhood looks absolutely stunning! The wide roads and vibrant surroundings are truly captivating. Those tall walls are so intriguing! It's fascinating to see the unique architecture and the way people create their own private spaces. Your travel videos always open my eyes to new perspectives. By the way, the walls don't surprise me as we also have these in my country. It's interesting to see the similarities and differences in how people design their homes in different places. Keep enjoying every moment, and thanks for sharing these incredible glimpses of Zambia with us! 🏠🌍 Sending lots of love and support from afar! ❤✈🌍

Looks like the walls are becoming a trend in most black African cities. I’m Zambian & I hate these no see thru high security walls because they hide the beauty of the houses. If I was the president, I would ban the no see thru walls & just strengthen the services of the security wings especially at night.

There was a time in the 2000 when there was a rise in crimes and people became security conscious so came in the high wall fences, but lately people are now opening up with low or wire fences, but with new places like Chalala, Kingsland, foxdale, meanwood, Lilayi and other many places you will find low walls.

The best houses in Lusaka are probably in the outer city, not in the suburbs. Makeni, Lilayi, Chilanga, New Kasama etc. And most yards there use a wire/game fence so you can get a better view of what's inside.
Lusaka is quite safe, but i have never felt safe at night, especially walking on the streets. And the police service is quite unhelpful. Petty theft is still a huge concern especially anywhere in the inner city and suburbs. There are hundreds of thousands of impoverished people living informal settlements aka shanty compounds, adjacent to the wealthy suburbs, so that's probably where the thieves come from.
The suburbs will probably become much safer if all the surrounding areas are gentrified. Although ultimately, the priority should be empowerment of the poor, and eradication of poverty.

Lovely content although I don’t like the no see thru security walls. Zambia is indeed known to be a politically peaceful nation. It’s peaceful & safe to walk anywhere during the day & the people are friendly. But like most nations, it has some criminal bandits late at night & that’s why the people decide to have those long no see thru security walls. I’m Zambian & I hate the walls because we never had them all over the suburbs prior to the 1990s.

It's alot of poverty there, some of the walls have electrical wires and some have spikes and glass on top of them.

That's my neighborhood, we are very private when it comes to our houses as to not give thieves a chance to see what is in the yard.
