You have the best flashlight reviews. I have bought several lights based solely on your reviews and have never been disappointed, keep up the fantastic work!
Thx Charles👈Great review as always. As for the light, I’m not sure what Imalent is going for here. Same price & approximate size as the 70, but less lumens by far(!?), plus the hassle of the charging case. Craziest part is, both lights are the same price. I’m happy with my ld70 & see no point to this light at all. Overall, Imalent is one of my favorite companies, but they missed the mark on this one. To anyone reading this & considering this light, check out Charles’ review on the Imalent LD70. Same price, but 4000 lumens. Magnetic charging (cable included with the light), same size, same OLED display, & nearly 4X the power! Hope this helped you. Thank you Charles. You are & will remain my light guru!
Even crazier, the main selling point is that its on the go charging, yet you can literally buy the charger box seperate and works with ld70 as well as bl70. But wait, it doesn’t stop there. The imalent ld10 is still 1200 lumens, still same size, same oled display, but its like 35 us bucks cheaper!
@@sphereplays also, if you're going to carry around the portable charger, you might as well just carry around a slighter larger flashlight. It would be lighter and less volume than the light/charger combo. And all the capacity would be immediately available to, you know, produce light. If you're carrying around the charger, you're carrying capacity that you can't use right away. The charger is not only a gimmick--it's a gimmick that lessens utility!
Nice review! Objectively, that bright ring at the outer edge of the beam is a problem. Also, I think small EDCs should be geared towards a lot more flood and spill light. That bright, fairly-tight beam would actually be bad for looking for something in the shed at night. The screen and UI are nice. I think the charging case is very interesting. But it doesn't really make sense to me b/c I would never want to carry it around. And if I was ok with carrying the extra weight and volume of the charging case, it would be more efficient--in weight and volume--to just put that extra capacity in the flashlight. The flashlight would be a little bigger but still smaller and lighter than the flashlight and charger combined. And the extra capacity would be immediately usable for actually producing light. If you're carrying out the capacity in a portable charger--instead of the flashlight itself--you're carrying around capacity that has a long wait period before you can use it for light. That's just silly. It might make sense if the portable charger were more like a portable charging 'station.' TONS of capacity. Not really something you'd carry in your pocket but portable enough to throw in your camping gear or work bag and enough capacity to fully charge the battery around 10 times.
They do here: www.imalentstore.com/products/ld70-flashlight-charging-cable?_pos=1&_sid=298b7169d&_ss=r The LD35 and LD70 use this cable. You can use my discount code as well to save $$. Thanks for watching!
Hi Charles, I appreciate all your videos, question please what is your opinion about protected cell batteries vs non-protected batteries, when using flashlights/lanterns in general? - Thank-you Charles
Unprotected cells work in any light but best in high powered lights. Protected cells are longer and may not fit some lights but are also dialed down in amp output sometimes. Protected cells are often used in light which have a charging port for extra safety. Thanks for watching!
@@thebluegrass in the box comes an USB cable to charge the carrying case, not the flashlight itself you can see it at the 2:10 mark maybe there is an extra cable you can buy separately, I don't know
Saw it the other day on Aliexpress Was thinking bout it cause i really like Imalent is a top brand Like the unique color and charging case with it, "BUT" now looking at the actual beam, I absolutely hate any Halo rings or petal effects on flashlights So unless its a full solid beam Thats a Red Flag so it's a pass from me👍👍
Best edc from IMALENT👍🏻, but if brightest can get 2000 lumen that is better because ld35 is half of ld70 and that has 4000 lumen so i hope the ld35 will be 2000 lumen with some spill.
Looks like it will not fit in the "charger/case" with the lanyard attached. And no clip gives it a fail from me. I have their MS06 25000 lumen beast that I love but for $400 plus light that can NOT take more than fourteen rain drops without shorting out I gave it a fail as well. Purchased after watching your review.

Looks like they learned something from olight. Can u get separate charging cable for the light by itself?

The ld70 runs a xhp70.2 so it can take more lumens than a sft25r that’s in the ld35. The ld35 will also throw a lot more.
@@ctay1071 Yup, but i think they have to upgrade the led a bit they use another one there are several options.
