Sorry about the poor quality, this was the only version of the episode I could find.
I do not own Heckle, Jeckle, or Terrytown Cartoons, or the rights to any of them. I am just a fan who stumbled across this hard to find episode and decided to share.
Who were the 9 drunks who don't like Heckle & Jeckle? If there was a bricks and mortar Cartoon Hall of Fame, these 2 would be in it! Thanks for uploading these 2 characters.

Like Paul Terry, I too long for a day when playful trickster characters can use their imaginations, rejecting our reality and replacing it with their own, without being hassled by the Man.
I watched this cartoon when I was a little boy in Galveston, Texas!

In those old cartoons they'd take out a gat and bust a cap in you in a new York minute. You would neeeeeeeeever see this done in a cartoon today!

funny. my dad used to watch this. he said one time he was visiting a friend, and a parrot was in there. in fact, the house looked like a zoo. with spiders and iguanas. then suddenly he heard a voice shouting. his friend walked in to the parrots room. with my dad, he opened the door- 'DIE LAH YOU!' .the parrot spoke like that. his friend said he teached him to talk. but he didn't learn. he scolded the parrot 'DIE LAH YOU!' it was like 'TIE LAH YOU!' he he!
I know they're heterosexual life partners, as TV Tropes calls it, and things were pretty different back when this cartoon was made, but I still can't help wondering... ^_^

I believe whatever rumors you had in mind are false. Heckle and Jeckle are basically heterosexual life partners. And Con Artists. And Talking Magpies. And Music players. And sadistic sadomasochists.

Heckle and Jeckle are pretty profound. But then again, as members of the crow family, they really know what time it is on the etheric planes. As magpies, they can even recognize their own reflection in a mirror. These birds are some baaad m.f.s!

You'd neeeeeever see cartoons like this today. For one thing most if the characters were quick to pull out guns and start shooting! You see this theme used all over the place in the Terry toons shorts and also the looney toon shorts.

I wonder if this short inspired Chuck Jones to direct the classic "Duck Amuck" - although in that instance, Daffy Duck is at the mercy of a god-like animator rather than in control of his own metaphysical abilities like Heckle and Jeckle.

LOL Do it again! Do it again! My momalways had these heckle and jeckle cartoons on when I was little; just to keep me quiet. I wish someone would upload the episode called Happy go landing ,its the one where heckle and jeckle help that lion fix the airplane for the dog.

This one reminds me a lot of some of Fleischer's old stuff.
AS stated below,.. 'ALL THE WORLD ISA STAGE' ..and so are the thoughts of the mind as I played on my stage during early morning recess AND after noon recess ,as many kids became participants in my cartoon,..until that **AWFUL bell rang.**

They just don't make such classics like they use to! Now we have on our kid shows:ninjas,vampires,zombies,witchcraft,occultism,planet-destroying kung-fu,UFO's,aliens,moronic logic and violence,violence and violence! You call that entertanment?
The moral of the story - Heckle and Jeckle are god-like beings who will make your life a living hell if you are a police dog.
